sometimes don't you
0:02
just need a quick moment of
0:05
inspiration. Or maybe you just
0:05
need a moment of caffeinated
0:08
contemplation to reflect on
0:08
life. That's the idea behind my
0:11
weekly coffee with Nicola
0:11
espresso shots. I'll be sharing
0:15
short jolts of inspiration in
0:15
each clip, in addition to my

created just for you. Hey,
0:31
everybody, it's Nicoa. And this
0:31
is your weekly espresso shot. I
0:35
am just dropping in here to
0:35
remind you to take your time.
0:39
Take your time. You know, I
0:39
noticed somebody Well, my mother
0:44
for one. But I also noticed
0:44
somebody in line the other day,
0:47
apologizing to me because they
0:47
were trying to get a credit card
0:52
to work or something was going
0:52
on with their purchase. And it
0:54
was taking time. Right? And she
0:54
kept apologizing. I said, Hey,
0:59
take your time. Because it's her
0:59
time. And the reason that people
1:04
say, Oh, I'm so sorry, I'm so
1:04
sorry. They the reason they do
1:08
it is because they're insecure.
1:08
They don't want to be judged.
1:10
There's something in their
1:10
belief system that says, I'm not
1:14
enough. I'm not worthy of this
1:14
space I'm in right now. Nor am I
1:18
worthy to take my time.
1:18
Sometimes people are raised to
1:24
always be apologetic and
1:24
different in the way in which
1:27
they interact with people around
1:27
them. But I invite you to not be
1:33
apologetic. And instead of
1:33
apologizing, perhaps say thank
1:38
you so much for waiting. And
1:38
then give your statement or
1:42
don't. You don't even have to
1:42
say thank you. People People are
1:47
grown, they can leave the line
1:47
and go get in another line if
1:51
they want to. You know, taking
1:51
your time can show up in another
1:54
way too. Now, I'm not talking
1:54
about when the light is yellow,
1:59
and you're walking extra slow
1:59
across the light, you know,
2:01
across the intersection. Don't
2:01
take your time there. That's
2:05
annoying. But do take your time
2:05
as you go about your day. And
2:11
when I mean go about your day, I
2:11
mean standing up to walk to the
2:14
restroom, going outside to get
2:14
the mail, walking downstairs to
2:19
get some water, getting in your
2:19
car, getting out of your car and
2:24
walking into your appointment.
2:24
You would be surprised how
2:30
equivalent the hurrying is to
2:30
your timeframes of getting
2:34
somewhere My point is just
2:34
because you run doesn't mean
2:38
you're gonna get into the
2:38
doctor's appointment, you know,
2:40
any sooner. Right? Even if
2:40
you're late, right, you're still
2:45
it's probably the same amount of
2:45
time until they call you back.
2:48
So there's really no reason to
2:48
exert unnecessary energy
2:53
throughout your day hurrying not
2:53
only that, your energy in your
2:58
body is in a state of stress,
2:58
and hairiness and hurriedness
3:05
and anxiety and it's sending
3:05
those, those cortisol, you know,
3:11
shots into your thigh, right? So
3:11
notice that sometimes your
3:16
highly sense sense of urgency is
3:16
unnecessary. And see how much
3:23
energy and calm that would
3:23
create if you just took your
3:28
time. If you just were present
3:28
with each step, take your time.
3:36
Take your time. And I invite you
3:36
to journal about that this week.
3:42
I thank you everyone for
3:42
listening. And here's to a happy
3:46
spring. Take your time make sure
