sometimes don't you just need a quick moment of inspiration. Or maybe you just need a moment of caffeinated contemplation to reflect on life. That's the idea behind my weekly coffee with Nicola espresso shots, I'll be sharing short jolts of inspiration in each clip, in addition to my longer Coffee with Nicoa interview episodes, make sure to subscribe so you never miss an espresso shot, or a full length Coffee with Nicoa interview created just for you. Hey, guys, it's Nicoa welcome to your espresso shot for the week, I want to ask you one really critical question. And you're not going to know the answer to it. Because it's an ever changing answer. And that question is, who are you? Who are you? Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are?

0:52

Who are you? You know, I've often asked that question in some of these interviews that I do on the podcast, and I'll say, Who are you without that identity? Like, who are you without that title? You know, who are you without that partner? Who are you without those children? Who are you without your cultural identity?

1:12

Who are you without your history? Who are you without that historic trauma? Who are you? And we when we ask this question to ourselves, it gives us an opportunity more critically, to identify who we think we've been and who we think we are from an AI, from those identities, from those roles, from those titles from those cultures? Because then we begin to say, wait a minute, but who am I? Who is the AI that's asking the question, right? I'm inviting you to create some space here, between you and all of those things, all of those titles, all of those experiences, all of that history. Because in coaching, we want to help people help themselves move toward a future state that will better serve them in joy and happiness in fun in satisfaction and peace, in fulfillment in abundance. But we need to dissect and peel back the onion, if you will, and get down to the root of who is the the one questioning who is the one designing who is the one trying to decide what it is that they want. In that future state.

2:33

You're always between that previous space that previous life, and the one that you are moving toward. A lot of people don't intentionally get out ahead of the one they're moving toward, and they just let it come. Which on one hand could be advantageous? Because sometimes we just need to allow it. But on the other hand, what if we could get out ahead of it? What if we could create that space? By the way, that space is called now, that moment now where we become so present in the now that we can recognize that there? Is someone asking the question of who we are. And we say who were we? How did it feel to be that version of the me that showed up and had life experiences for in my case, the past 55 years? And wow, what if there's 5055 more years? So who? How would I like to get out ahead of those next 55 years? I'm going to be so old. How would I like to get out ahead of that? And CO create with me? That is the true me that the who am I? Right? How can I observe that version of me and then say okay, now what?

3:50

What do I want? So what do you want? Come back into this moment right now, just right now, guess what the only moment is now.

4:02

Here we are now. The only moment in time is now and you reflect on your past however many years, and then you kind of look forward? What is the version of you? Outside of all of those identities? Who are you? What would you like to embody? Let's tap now away from all the identities away from all the cultures and bring it down into what I will simplify for you. It is a way of being a way of being. It's how you feel and how you wish to experience life from all of your senses. So who are you when you're not in those identities? Who are you when you co create an experience that you want to feel? Savor Explore, expand within. Think about the movement of your body. Think about the taste buds in your mouth. Think about the visualization that you're able to create, if you can see the colors of the world. You know what I have one guest I interviewed recently, Don coffered was talking about how much art she loves. I honestly woke up the other night wishing I'd asked her more about that, like, why didn't I ask her more?

5:27

Because it's clearly something that she's passionate about. And she and her husband and her daughter are very intentional in moving into artistic experiences. That's who they are. They want to experience things. How often are you asking yourself the question, Who am I in this body, in in this world?

5:50

And how can I leverage all of my senses to experience my next however many years more fully?

5:55

Who are you? Who are you without the traditional identifiers? And it is that way of being that I invite you to explore and develop and foster Maura. I'll send you off that's your journaling prompt for the week.

6:18

Who am I? Let me get back to you. I'm still working on her.
