On this episode of Collider Movie Talk (Tuesday, February 6th, 2018) Mark Ellis, Mark Reilly, Perri Nemiroff, Dennis Tzeng discuss the following: 1) Comcast Reportedly Considering Topping Disney's Bid For Fox 2) Quentin Tarantino reportedly forced Uma Thurman to drive an unsafe car in Kill Bill 3) Opening This Week 4) James Mangold to Direct Ford vs. Ferrari Film as ‘Logan’ Follow-Up 5) Jessica Chastain Cut from Xavier Dolan’s ‘The Death and Life of John F. Donovan’ 6) First Trailer Released for Melissa McCarthy’s Life of the Party 7) Live Twitter Questions Though fans of Marvel are looking forward to seeing the Fox/Disney merger go through in order to bring the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the MCU, regulatory processes might actually allow another company to step into the mix and disrupt the deal. This according to a new report from CNBC. It states that Comcast could potentially outbid Disney's offer for Fox assets, which would keep the X-Men and Avatar properties away from the Mouse House. Uma Thurman finally broke her silence in a sprawling New York Times interview in which she addressed Harvey Weinstein with her own allegations of abuse. And near the end of the article was a short video in which Thurman revealed she was forced by Tarantino to drive a car in Kill Bill, against her wishes. And seen in the video, released with the interview, Thurman loses control and crashes the car, causing injuries. OPENING THIS WEEK AGREE / DISAGREE Variety reports that Logan director James Mangold has signed on to direct 20th Century Fox’s film about the rivalry between designers at Ford and Ferrari, who were determined to create the world’ fastest racecar. Mommy filmmaker Xavier Dolan’s new movie, ‘The Death and Life of John F. Donovan,’ has a new development that has some fans scratching their head. The director took to his Instagram account over the weekend to offer a lengthy explanation about why, unfortunately, Jessica Chastain’s character has now been cut from the movie entirely. Melissa McCarthy debuted the trailer from her new comedy Life of the Party, yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The movie was inspired by Rodney Dangerfield’s classic comedy, Back to School.
