Today’s book suggestion is another book from my collection and its called The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

This is a YA novel published in 2017 that follows the story of a black teenage girl who witnesses her unarmed black male friend be shot and killed by police and the events that follow in her community.

I decided to purchase this book after hearing so much hype about it online and about how it contributes to the conversation about police brutality and the current climate going on in America revolving around police shootings.

Another thing to note is that this book has been made into a major motion picture that will be out this year in 2018, and I’m super excited for it after seeing the trailer!

So, short and sweet, that’s my suggestion for today.
