Nancy Kline said, “Supervision is an opportunity to bring someone back to their own mind, to show them how good they can be.” In this episode, I will be discussing why it’s important to not only supervise, but to do so effectively. Your team must understand your intent with any task clearly, or the project will have some hiccups. Mission accomplishment is the most important aspect of any mission or task, not necessarily the semantics in between start and finish.

  • The only thing that matters is that the task/mission gets accomplished with the desired outcome, not HOW it was accomplished.
    • The team doesn’t have to follow your instructions to the T. If one of your team members knows a better way to accomplish the task, give them the added responsibility of leading the team through that task and see how they handle the leadership role
