In our first episode of all time, we (Iris and Jen) introduce ourselves and explain the origins of the Computer Ethics and Popular Culture course. Oriented to a non-academic and an academic audience, we walk through our approach to studying and understanding popular fiction within Social Informatics as interdisciplinary scholars.
Students in the course watched “The Fable of the Dragon Tyrant,” and The Real Chernobyl (2019), two videos available to stream for free on YouTube, and we outline key concepts for the week. Reach out to Iris with questions or comments on Twitter @ibull or [email protected]
