Amy Lawrence is the Director of Counseling and Social Work for Denton ISD, overseeing nearly 100 counselors district-wide. Prior to serving as the director, she was a professional school counselor at the high school level for 12 years, and a teacher for 9 years. Amy is proud to say this marks 32 years as an educator. Lauren and Amy discuss some of the barriers and stigmas to mental health in the school system and how to help adolescents and teachers better.
