This week's episode, I sit with Salt Lake's own Damon Ricks. Damon has been cosplaying for over a decade and has created numerous expert quality costumes, including a Gamorrean Guard costume from Star Wars. We talk about what it was like getting the materials and segments of the costume to be as, photo realistic and character accurate, as possible. Also, what it's like being on a panel at Salt Lake Comic Con. Even, when you are surrounded by experts on a subject that you may not know EVERYTHING about. It was, most definitely, an absolute please to sit down with someone as talented and approachable as Damon. Make sure you follow his future projects.
The greatness of more cosplay podcasting is increasing yet again. This time with the fabulous duo, Metropolis Cosplay. Sean and Anne do amazing work as a married couple cosplay team, as well as individual cosplayers. As you can see a perfectionist's eye and a creatively fearless mind combine to extraordinary cosplay. Both are never afraid to tackle a new challenge to better their skills and increase an amazing cosplay lineup. And with the beloved mantra of "I assumed I could" these two are quite knowledable about quite a few different techniques.Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/metropolis.cosplays/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/metropolis.cosplays/

This episode, I sat down with Shevonne Brown, of Ugami Cosplay. In addition to being a fabulous cosplayer; she is also a world-class speed skater. With a refreshing attitude, quick wit, and competitive nature; Shevonne serves as a motivational focal point. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UgamiCosplay/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ugamicosplay/World of Cosplay: http://worldcosplay.net/member/ugamiCascade Speedskates: https://www.facebook.com/CascadeSpeedskates/ Cracked Brain Podcast RSS
In this episode, sat down with first time cosplayer Michelle Mertz. 2016 Salt Lake Comic Con was her first experience at a Con, AND first time cosplaying. Michelle discusses her experience at her first Con. Also, her first time making her Dr. Strange and Harley Quinn costumes. Rep'n DC all up in this Marvel!!!
Another episode in the Blitz is upon us and this time we have a JEDI!!! THE Jedi in Jeans, as a matter of fact. This episode was especially fun and intriguing for me; because in addition to being a great cosplayer Liz Cole, The Jedi in Jeans, is also a talented writer. I have aspired to become a writer since I was 9, yet my passion has always exceeded my actual ability.  That definitely is not the case for Liz. From the blog that she contributes to on The Geeky Mormon. To the personal Fanfiction that she also writes. This Jedi's skill in this particular venture could adequately place her in Knight-like level. But, as I said before, this Jedi is also a great cosplayer. From Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) to Leia Organa, Liz has embued every character that she has portrayed with a breath of life and a respect of someone that empathizes with the experiences of that character. Liz shares a deep connection with the characters, which in turn masterfully enhances the theatrics that tend to go along with cosplaying. Be sure to follow what The Jedi in Jeans is up to next. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jediinjeansyzil/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lizycole_jediinjeansTwitter: https://twitter.com/erehsawyzilTumblr: http://originaljediinjeans.tumblr.com/The Geeky Mormon: http://thegeekymormon.com/The Jedi in Jeans Blog: http://jediinjeans.blogspot.com/Liz's Fan Fic: http://archiveofourown.org/users/20SomethingSuperHeroes
Not 100% sure if this is the half way point in the Pre-FanX Blitz, but let's just say it is. Anyway, this episode is with the lovely Katrina Kosplay!!! For someone so new to cosplay, Katrina has a cosmic level of passion for the art. Every character that she chooses is from a place of respect and love. And that love is clearly seen in the photos taken and the life she releases into every cosplay. Recreating shots from art and comics that she loves to getting goofy with teaser shots, Katrina is always bringing something new to the table. And with all that, combined with a love of gaming and anime!!!! Before and after the episode, we were fan-girling over our favorite anime moments and series. Be sure to keep in touch with the fun that Katrina masterfully shares.Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KatrinaKosplays/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/katrinakosplays/
PART 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Podcast history has been marked by the first Part 2 (granted this podcast is only 3 months old). Regardless, the continuation of the awesomeness that is the Roman Candle Cosplay Episode begins again!!!!!!!!
Madame Moody and Kidd Grimm join me for another haunting fun episode. It definitely seems like with 3 episodes in, and there so much more to explore. Get ready for more horror, cosplay, and Con stories.
Welcome to the Return of Kiki Furia.....for the first time lol. Sitting down with Kira Coelho, of Kiki Furia is so much fun for me, because of how hard we fan-girl about anime and cosplay. Kira is an amazing cosplayer in the Salt Lake area. She attacks every new costume with something a little new every time, and a love for that particular character. Personally, I love the gender-bend Bishop that she does. In addition to being a skilled cosplayer, Kira is also part of a phenomenal cosplay group called Cosplay Connect. You can find them on social media. Their goal is to bring cosplayers together in support and gratitude. Every person that joins the group takes a pledge to be supportive, generous, and non-judgemental. With every new pledge the, very literal, Chain of Cosplay Connect continues to grow. Whether you are a long-time master of cosplay, or barely working on your first costume; check out Cosplay Connect and help to grow a wonderful community.Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KikiFuria/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kiki_furia/Twitter: https://twitter.com/kiki_furiaCosplay Connect: https://www.facebook.com/CosplayConnect/
This episode, I'm havin a great time with Gary Lizaso. Gary and I were laughing from second 1, and then started recording an hour later. Episodes like this are why I love doing this podcast. Gary's upbeat and hilarious attitude bring great character and life to all of his cosplays. Gary also does an amazing job incorporating his family into his cosplays, as well. His example further shows that you can still cosplay, while in a fantastic family.
Let's start off by saying that this is not the typical cosplay related episode. This week I sat down with a buddy of mine, Caiden Tolman. Gaming, airport life, and airsoft are some of the subjects that come up. If this becomes a regular thing, I am most definitely calling these episodes "Broken Brain Podcasts."Make sure you check out Black Angels Recon Facebook Page. If you're interested in airsoft, reach out for more info.

This bonus episode is to introduce Candace Chesley (Pink Lemonade Cosplay) and Brandon Peck (Woodpecker Cosplay) as official members of The Cracked Brain Team. When I started the Podcast, I only had hopes that I would enjoy doing it as a fun side hobby. But recently things have been building in a direction that I didn't foresee. I have started with interacting with different local and out-of-state Cons and events. I can't go into specifics, but these interactions have prompted me to invest more time trying to broaden the reach of the podcast; and to start working on other features. As I worked harder to plan for more content, I quickly realized that I could not do everything that I wanted to alone. So I sat down and thought of the people that could help me the most, with the time, skills, and motivation. Many were considered but these two struck me as great possible partners.Candace, will be our Art & Animation Director. I have thought of a lot of ideas regarding merch and fun original content to share. I've seen her work first hand, and I can't even begin to tell you all how excited I am to bring her in. She's already started working on a few things that will be coming out towards the end of the year will leave you all pinned to the wall with laughter. Brandon, is going to be Director of Gaming and Video Content. Over the last few months, I have wanted to start working on providing more content through gaming videos, live streams, and more. Just running the podcast takes so much of my time, that I needed another person to focus on this facet entirely. And Brandon has already started planning on some truly amazing and creative videos to come.I will still be hosting the Cracked Brain Podcast and overseeing everything as Founder. But, Brandon and Candace will be just as involved in every decision. Feel free to contact them, just as much as you all do me. I cannot wait to start sharing everything that we have planned and are working on.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/crackedbrain/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/crackedbrain/support
I hope you are ready for an episode with A LOT of cosplay, anime, and RWBY!!! (that is capitalized because that is how it is actually titled; and also because of how much I FREAKING LOVE THAT SHOW!!!) This episode 3 members of the cosplay group, SASS Cosplay, sit down on the Podcast. Rachel (RaeRae Cosplay), Sara (Raine Emery Cosplay), Ali (Lalee Cosplay) share stories of life as a cosplay group, the experiences they've had at Cons, and just mess around like usual. The photographer and editor of the Group, Izzy, couldn't join us on the episode, but no energy was lost with these three. As individual cosplayers, they are fantastic. But as a group, these women are a hilarious force of nature. DO NOT miss your chance to follow this amazingly talented group of cosplayers.SASS Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SASScosplays/SASS Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sasscosplays/Ali's Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/laleecosplay/Ali's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/laleecosplay/Rachel's Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/raeraecosplays/Rachel's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/raeraecosplays/Sara's Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/raineemerycosplay/Sara's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/raineemery/ Cracked Brain Podcast RSS https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/crackedbrain/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/crackedbrain/support
I think its about time we had a BONUS EPISODE!!! And who better to have on as a guest than our exquisite shadowcast performer, George Alcoser. If you remember from the last time that George was on the Podcast, he is a part of a local theatre group that performs in the style of Shadow Cast performances. Shadow cast is a style where the film version of the production plays behind the live version simultaneously. The live performers have the difficulty of remaining in-sync with the film, never detracting from the film being played, but also must bring a creative and alternate performance that goes hand in hand with what's being played behind them. The performing group that George is a part of is Cosplay Productions. Cosplay Productions, is a fantastic group of cosplay performers that throw their all into every aspect of the performance. Being skilled cosplayers, gives them an understanding of the costuming and props that accompany the performance. In addition, the performing aspect requires them to portray their characters to the fullest. In addition to Cosplay Productions, George is also a now experienced karaoke jockey. Black Out Entertainment is the company George performs as a KJ for during the week. With the unrelenting energy that comes naturally, George enlivens The Ice Haus to a fun, raucous degree. So you all are about to hear when I totally mess up. I try to never edit an episode, because I think it's very important to keep it natural and real. Well, in the first 10 minutes you will hear me think I'm talking to a completely different guest altogether. I now know where the mix up originated, but even so I totally could have prevented this. But, enough rambling, today's guest is a truly talented cosplayer and animator that hails all the way --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/crackedbrain/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/crackedbrain/support
