Shelly Leer has been taking apart furniture and rebuilding it for over 20 years. Her familiar voice and easy-to-follow projects have worked their way into the hands of creators from novice to professional. Her business The HomeRoom Shop is the studio for her courses and workshops and provides an event space for unique hands-on corporate and private events.
Shelly is currently blending her Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching with her background in mindful handwork to build a practice to help clients cope with trauma, grief and other life changes through creative making.
Shelly is also an accomplished writer. She has written a weekly DIY newspaper column, had her work featured in magazines and The Huffington Post, and is the co-author of 3 books. Shelly’s own book is due out soon.
Her passion and need to teach others can be seen in her regular workshops for teens as well as her monthly Upholstery Bootcamps, online classes and courses.
