Spies come in all shapes and sizes, each designed to play a specific role in their game of espionage. Some spies are perfectly aware of their role, in full communication with their sponsors, but others are sent off into enemy territory with nothing but faith that their role will be fulfilled. This brand of Spy is known as the Sleeper Agent. What are sleeper agents, and have they had an actual role in history? most importantly, how can we write a story about one?
