1:06

Good evening , ladies and gentlemen , and welcome

1:08

to the Creepy Show Podcast

1:10

. I'm your host , the

1:13

Master of Creep

1:15

. Now

1:27

, tonight's episode is called UFO Encounter Crew Missing

1:29

. My

1:34

name is Jake and I served in the US Navy for about four years and then I

1:36

left the Navy and I got a job as a merchant marine

1:38

. The year was

1:40

1957 , and

1:43

we were hired for buoy inspection

1:46

in the North Atlantic

1:48

sea lanes . These

1:51

shipping lanes were established in

1:53

the mid to late 1800s

1:56

. The North Atlantic sea

1:58

lanes was inspired

2:00

by the sinking of a US

2:03

mail steamer , the

2:05

SS Arctic , which

2:08

collided with a French steamer , the

2:10

SS Vesta , in

2:13

October of 1854

2:15

. More than 300

2:18

sailors lost their lives . Our

2:22

job was to inspect

2:24

, repair or replace

2:26

buoys that marked the shipping

2:28

lanes . In October

2:31

of 1957 , we

2:33

were 90 nautical miles west

2:36

of North Scotland in

2:38

search of several buoys that had broken

2:40

away and were floating outside

2:43

of the shipping lanes that had broken away and were

2:45

floating outside of the shipping lanes . Our job was to find these buoys

2:47

, recable and re-anchor

2:50

them back into place . While

2:53

looking for the buoys , we

2:58

came across an older Echo-class ship that was abandoned and

3:00

slightly listing to the starboard

3:02

side . Several of

3:04

us took a smaller dinghy over to

3:06

check out the ship and found

3:08

that no one was on board . The

3:12

older ship looked like it had been just

3:14

floating without power for years

3:16

. There was no sign of anybody

3:19

on board , as though they had

3:21

all just vanished . There

3:24

were still unopened cans of food

3:26

in the galley and dirty plates

3:28

broken on the floor . Why

3:30

it looked like somebody had a fight

3:32

in here and started

3:35

throwing plates at each other . Well

3:38

, we decided to tow the vessel back

3:40

into the port of Ness Bay

3:42

, which was the closest port

3:44

from our location . I

3:47

think I found out what happened to

3:49

the crew , but what I would

3:51

like to do is just read from

3:54

the captain's journal . In his own

3:56

words , I

3:59

found the Captain's Journal and

4:01

started reading entries . The

4:04

last entry was made

4:06

on Thursday February 21

4:08

, 1957

4:10

. That was more than six

4:13

months ago . Apparently

4:16

, captain Williams

4:18

was in the habit of writing a

4:20

detailed daily entry into

4:23

his journal . While

4:25

creating this podcast , I

4:27

have changed the names of the captain and

4:30

the crew in addition to the names of the ship

4:32

, upon request of the British

4:35

Secret Intelligence Service

4:37

, also known as MI6

4:39

. Apparently

4:42

, they did not want this information

4:44

to see the light of day . Upon

4:47

reading the journal , I discovered that there

4:49

were seven sailors aboard

4:51

the vessel , including the captain

4:53

. The first sign of trouble

4:55

was on Sunday , february 17

4:58

, 1957 . The

5:00

captain recorded seeing another ship

5:02

on the horizon . It

5:05

seems to be about 10 miles away

5:07

. All you could see were the lights

5:09

and they seemed to be flickering

5:11

as though they were trying to signal

5:13

a distress call . Straight

5:26

course to investigate the lights . As the ship got closer , the captain realized that the lights were

5:28

not coming from another ship . Why these lights seemed

5:31

to be in the midair , but

5:33

it wasn't an airplane , it was something

5:36

else . The lights

5:38

were coming from a saucer-shaped

5:40

airship that was spinning

5:43

. This is why the lights seemed to be

5:45

flickering . The captain and the crew

5:47

were stunned upon seeing

5:49

this airship and one of

5:51

the crew members said this is

5:53

a UFO . This

5:56

is the first time the captain had ever heard

5:58

this term used A UFO

6:01

, you know , an unidentified

6:03

flying object . The

6:06

captain decided to turn his ship around

6:08

to get away from this thing , but

6:11

as his ship reversed course

6:13

, the UFO started

6:15

following them . Reading

6:18

into the captain's journal

6:20

, the next entry was Monday

6:23

, february the 18th 1957

6:25

. The captain writes we

6:28

continue to move back toward

6:30

the North Atlantic sea lanes , but

6:33

this UFO just won't leave us

6:35

alone . The captain

6:37

notes that he doesn't intend

6:39

to report this because of fear of losing

6:42

his position as a captain . The

6:45

UFO seems to be following us , but

6:47

staying a few miles to our stern , as

6:50

though they were just curious and

6:52

wanted to see what we were up to . I

6:56

directed two of our crew members to

6:58

stay awake all night and

7:00

watch this thing and

7:02

wake me up if it gets any closer or

7:05

if anything changes . The

7:08

next entry into the captain's

7:10

journal was the next day

7:12

, tuesday , february 19 , 1957

7:16

. The journal

7:18

reads I woke

7:20

up and everything seemed normal

7:22

. No reports of anything

7:25

out of the ordinary . I

7:27

went up on top deck to check on the two

7:29

crew members and found

7:31

that they were not at their assigned

7:33

post . I did not see

7:36

the UFO and assumed that it went away

7:38

. What the hell , I was furious . What the hell

7:40

, I was furious . Where

7:42

were those two crew members I posted

7:45

just the night before ? I

7:47

had already decided to dock their pay

7:49

for a day because they didn't follow

7:52

my orders . They were supposed to

7:54

keep an eye on this UFO and

7:56

let me know if anything changes . I

7:59

assumed that they had just left their

8:01

post and found a place to sleep on the

8:03

ship . I called

8:05

all crew attention over the ship's

8:07

intercom and the other crew

8:10

members gathered on top deck , but

8:12

the two missing crew members were

8:15

in fact gone . I

8:17

went from being mad to

8:19

being worried . Where

8:21

were they ? What

8:27

happened to them ? There were no storms , it just seemed to be a quiet night , and yet they are

8:29

still missing . None of the lifeboats

8:32

were gone . None of the life preservers

8:34

were missing . This is a complete

8:36

mystery . I called

8:38

a meeting of all crew members together

8:41

and we decided to search every

8:43

inch of the ship and look

8:45

for the missing crew members , but

8:47

nothing was ever found . Many

8:50

of the crew members started talking about the UFO

8:53

and speculating that it had

8:55

something to do with the missing crew . At

8:58

this point I was inclined to agree

9:00

with them . We reversed

9:02

course to go back and look for them

9:04

, but we never found any trace

9:07

of them . I used the

9:09

ship's shortwave radio to report

9:11

the two missing crew members , but

9:13

still did not mention anything

9:15

about the UFO . That

9:18

night the UFO returned

9:21

off of our stern . It

9:23

seemed to be just a few miles away

9:26

and it seemed to be following

9:28

us again . At

9:30

this point I broke down and reported

9:32

seeing the craft , and I was ordered

9:35

to immediately return to port

9:37

. I assigned two

9:39

more crew members to maintain a watch

9:41

, but this time I made sure

9:44

they were armed . The

9:46

next entry into the

9:49

captain's journal was Wednesday

9:51

, february 20 , 1957

9:54

. It reads I woke

9:56

up to the sounds of screams

9:59

and gunfire . I

10:03

jumped from my bed and I grabbed

10:06

a gun and I ran to the ship's

10:08

top side . I was met

10:10

by two other crew members who had

10:12

also woke up because of the turmoil

10:14

. It was about 5

10:16

am but it was still dark . The

10:19

two crew members I posted the night before

10:22

were gone . Now

10:35

I have lost four of the lost

10:37

crew members severed hand

10:39

. It was very disturbing

10:42

and it scared the hell out of us

10:44

. It looked like one of our crew

10:46

members fought back and

10:49

they got their hand cut off . The

10:52

hand looked like it was sliced off

10:54

with a single blow , like you would expect

10:57

from a samurai sword , except

10:59

it had burn marks at the wrist

11:01

. We couldn't tell

11:03

whose hand it was . We

11:06

could still see the UFO several

11:08

miles away still following

11:10

us . We were completely

11:13

exhausted but none of us could

11:15

sleep . We spent the entire

11:18

day into the evening speculating

11:20

about what had happened . We

11:23

were only about 40 hours out of port

11:25

and decided to try to stay awake

11:27

until we were safely home . The

11:30

next journal entry was

11:33

Thursday , february 21st 1957

11:36

. It's 2 am

11:38

. I have locked myself

11:41

into my cabin . I

11:43

have a gun and several rounds

11:45

of ammunition . I can

11:47

hear that something is not right . Sounds

11:51

like a fight in the galley , but

11:53

I'm too scared to leave my cabin . I

11:56

am documenting everything because

11:58

I don't know what is going to happen to me

12:00

. I can hear screams

12:03

. It sounds like Taylor . I

12:05

recognized his voice and

12:08

I could hear him say keep

12:10

away , keep

12:13

away . And then

12:15

one last scream

12:17

and a very loud thud

12:20

on the top of my cabin

12:22

room . He

12:25

must be right over me . What

12:28

in the hell is going on ? I'm

12:31

generally not afraid of anything , but

12:33

this is just too much . I

12:36

am trembling so much I'm

12:38

having a hard time writing . I'm

12:41

not going to unlock my door for anything

12:44

, even if I have to stay

12:46

in here for days . I

12:48

can't even imagine what

12:51

is . And that's

12:53

where the journal ended . In

12:55

mid-sentence , something

12:58

happened to Captain Williams

13:00

, something very

13:03

evil , something

13:06

very evil . After reading the captain's

13:08

journal , I revisited the ship

13:10

that we were towing . I

13:13

went to the room where he made his last stand

13:15

and I noticed that his door was

13:17

on the floor and damaged . Something

13:20

broke in Something

13:24

very strong . The hinges on his cabin door

13:27

were pulled away from the wood like

13:29

something just blasted through it with

13:32

one swift move . I

13:35

looked in the galley and determined that it

13:37

was where Pete was the cook

13:39

. He had made his last stand

13:41

and it looks like he ran out of rounds

13:44

and started throwing dishes . Whatever

13:47

attacked the crew , it must have been overwhelming

13:50

and powerful , and

13:56

the only clue that anyone had that anybody was there

13:58

was that severed hand still in the ship's freezer

14:00

. When we finally

14:02

towed the crippled ship into the port

14:05

of Ness Bay , we were met by British secret

14:07

intelligence service people . When we finally towed the crippled ship into the port

14:09

of Ness Bay , we were met by British secret intelligence

14:11

service people who confiscated the journal and the ship

14:13

. They interviewed each

14:15

one of the crew members from my ship

14:17

, including me . They

14:20

instructed us to not ever

14:22

14:24

, but I had already

14:26

copied down the entire journal for

14:28

my own personal interest

14:30

. Well , that

14:33

was more than 63 years

14:35

ago and I'm just now

14:37

releasing this story exclusively

14:40

for the Creepy
