My guest on this episode, Austin Husson, worked his way up from busboy, to waiter, to bartender, and then eventually to general manager at Fig Bar and Bistro. He moved to Charlottesville on his own, knowing nobody, as a way to get beyond the “safety net” he had at home. He knew with that fallback, he wouldn’t be able to thrive. So, he literally forced himself to be successful by removing any other option. He lived on a big jar of peanut butter for the first month in town!
Now, he manages the floor of a family-owned restaurant. Further, he developed the drink menu himself, and works constantly to deliver the best customer experience possible!
