In this show Derek Hart and I talk all things relationships. It’s through the relationships we have in our lives, be they, the intimate one, friends or business that I believe we are often given the opportunities to learn and grow the most. Our relationships are often our greatest teachers, they teach us so much about ourselves, how we view and handle our world, what we will and wont put up with, what we do and don’t want and more about ourselves than anyone possibly ever could. The key to learning the most from our relationships is being able to pull yourself out of the emotions or the distress to see what’s really going on. Derek Hart an expert in his field and also known as the relationship guy shares his wisdoms and teachings.
Derek Hart began a journey in 1990, where he realized that he was the go-to person for relationship help. It happened naturally. He was fascinated by the lack of connection he felt in his own life, and by the lack of connection he witnessed in most people around him. He became consumed with the study of relationships, and spent years applying his self-study to his own life experiences. A quarter century later, with over 22,000 hours counseling people on their relationship issues, he brings his vast experience exclusively to couples. Derek spent the last 18 months recording all of his couples' counseling sessions in a video format, with consent from his couples. Now this 400 hours of couples' healings will be produced and brought to all those that wish to learn how to love each other better. Derek has come to some powerful conclusions about the experience of the couple, and why distress with a couple is so difficult to resolve. The knowledge and wisdom of his own teachers, combined with the courage and vulnerability of his couples, gives him a unique perspective on how to rapidly move a couple through their distress, back to connection. Now, after a great amount of contemplation, Derek will be translating these experiences to the written form, the audio form, and the video form. Through the showing of the real work done with couples, he will explain what is happening, and we will benefit as we apply these concepts to our own lives. Derek believes that the witnessing of how a couple truly heals can rapidly teach us how to do this for ourselves. Theory and thinking alone are not enough. We need to do more than gain some insight. We need to experience what others are going through, learn from it, and bring that insight into our own ways of relating with each other. When you learn from others, when you apply that learning: that is wisdom. visit Derek at www.UnderstandEachOther.com
