Well researched podcast, stumbles a little in middle on goes a little off subject but it's at times a frightening glimpse into what these hackers can actually do. More episodes to come
The Lazarus Heist has an engrossing, well-researched podcast. However, like much reporting involving North Korea, it plays into a kind of double-standard that is only reserved for subjects deemed to be "other." North Korea is not the only country with profound inequality, de-facto caste systems, and a political system that doesn't live up to its claims. One notable instance is a segment that mocks the North Korean government for a producing a widely-played jingle to get its citizens excited about entering the tech-age. Similar campaigns exist in all countries, both created by governments and, perhaps more insidiously, by the private sector. It doesn't benefit the quality of this podcast's journalism to imagine that North Korea is the only place where people are brainwashed into supporting the motives of the powers that be... instead it makes the reports seem biased and more interested in taking pot-shots than on reporting.
Brilliant. Beautifully produced and well researched. Very well presented by two highly engaging presenters, each with their own unique expertise and experience. Highly recommended.
From the background music to the two narrators () this podcast is epic, and to add the cherry on top the plot build is so juicy. I can't wait for Season 2 on 2022 From Eastern Africa with love
Interesting at first but so many complicated technological details I couldn't manage the 2nd season after 1 or 2 episodes
This starts with an account of the Sony Pictures hack, then broadens its focus to take in everything about what North Korea may be doing in the way of organised crime - which is frighteningly large. You won't be able to predict where it goes next, but it's good to go along for the ride!
