Aloha and welcome to Da Local Perspective, this is our very first episode and I am happy that we are finally up and running.  My name is Uilani Kumuhone and I am the forever host on the show.  

Da Local Perspective was founded on the idea that many people are unfamiliar with what its really like to live in Hawaii because there is always branded  with "paradise" tattooed to our lifestyle, when really its not  that simple.  

Today we will talk about 5 major stereotypes about Hawaii that are very common and not necessarily true.  Its bigger then pineapples and surfs up kind of stereotypes but the kind of stereotypes that really changes the idea of Hawaii and its people.  

Im a local girl living her life as best I can in this beautiful often misunderstood "paradise" I want to shed some light on things that we as local people deal with everyday and what is our take on each of them.
