Happy, happy, happy Monday Come on

0:22

in! Did you have a good weekend? I'm

0:27

sure I did, remember I had surgery on Friday

0:30

Hip surgery, and today's Monday

0:34

Pre-recorded I'm

0:36

sure I had a great weekend We'll see, I have

0:38

no idea But

0:43

I think I did, anyway, today We're gonna talk

0:45

about plan B I got a

0:47

lesson about a week ago when I was talking to

0:49

my stepdaughter I have a hard time calling her my

0:51

stepdaughter 17 years now, but you

0:53

know, my daughter Elena She

0:56

got married She's a, in residency

0:59

for psychology Moving

1:02

on to being a doctor and all that stuff And she's the

1:04

one that really kind of drilled his enemy a few years back

1:07

And we had the conversation again, we'll talk about no plan B Got

1:10

the perseverance thing going on It

1:12

is the Daily Boost from Motivation to moo.com The

1:14

positive boost you need every single day 18,

1:18

see, see, 18 years, can you believe that?

1:20

Back when podcasting was just not even hardly

1:22

a thing Yeah, we just

1:24

stepped up and did it, had to make it up And

1:26

just stepped in front of the microphone and started finding people

1:28

and doing our thing And it's taken me around the world,

1:30

it really has And provides so many

1:32

opportunities, so many cool people Changes, it's

1:34

a cool way, and it continues to evolve So I'm glad you're

1:36

here if you're first time stopping in First time finding a podcast,

1:38

a lot of people are for the first time Welcome

1:40

to the show, we have a huge mission, it's ridiculous,

1:43

it really is I'm going to

1:45

entertain you the best I can, give you some really good

1:47

advice Some very street wise,

1:49

we call it Scott Logic I'm

1:52

going to be a straight shooter with you, I'm not going to

1:54

play this positive stuff Positivity stuff, I'd love to be positive, don't

1:56

get me wrong But I don't want

1:58

to be positive ignore all the other

2:00

stuff that's going badly. I just don't like that. So you're

2:03

gonna get the honest truth today that may not be for

2:05

you. That's fine. If it's not, just thanks for stopping by.

2:07

And if it is for you, if you take a positive

2:09

attitude motivated kind of guy that actually speaks the truth based

2:11

on what's really going on in the world, welcome.

2:14

Good to have you. Does anyone say who I

2:16

was? I'm not sure. My name is Scott Smith. Good to have you. Perfect

2:20

Week Planner is there for you. Go get it.

2:22

perfectweekplanner.com. The core of

2:24

Perfect Week Planner is taking 100% control of

2:26

your time. That's it. It's

2:28

simple. It's used by, man,

2:32

top executives, CEOs everywhere. Same kind of thing. I've

2:34

altered it a little bit for what we do

2:37

around here to match into our homework. But

2:39

if you're having trouble controlling your time, and

2:41

yes you can control your time. I cannot. It's kind of my

2:43

kids. I work. I don't have any

2:45

control over my time. Liar, liar, pants on fire. You

2:47

sure do. You're just not dealing with it. I'm

2:50

serious. You have control over anything you want

2:52

to. At the same time, you have no control whatsoever. Huh?

2:56

You know that statement is actually incredibly true and

2:59

incredibly freeing. The very minute you understand

3:02

that you're in control of

3:04

nothing in this planet, nothing in this

3:06

world, the very minute you know that, then

3:09

you get busy and you go after it, taking

3:11

control of everything you possibly can. It's amazing how

3:13

things change and amazing how the world says, oh,

3:15

you're one of them people that's actually doing stuff.

3:17

Come on. We'll just make it good for you.

3:19

Boom. You know it's true. You've

3:22

done it before. Monday

3:24

we asked a question, have you done your homework?

3:28

Bigger picture. This is just about have you thought and

3:30

not just listen to a podcast, not just read a

3:32

book, not just gathered ideas. But you

3:34

just sit down and contemplate how it's affecting your life and impacting

3:36

your life and what you can do with it. Have

3:39

you said, I've done all this study. I have all this experience, but

3:41

how's it really working out in my life? Am I happy? If

3:44

you're not happy, have you thought about

3:46

why? Are things going really well? Have you taken

3:49

the time to go, man, this is really fantastic. Be

3:51

grateful for it and understanding because in the world of

3:53

Scott, I will tell you that even if you're happy,

3:55

eventually it's going to go away. Things

3:58

change. Have you taken the time to... decide

4:00

how to defend it and protect that you get it to get you

4:02

keep it. If you're unhappy and

4:04

you found this podcast today and you're looking for some

4:06

motivation to be happy, I can't

4:08

teach you to be happy. Happiness is not one of the things we

4:10

can dole out. We can't do it. It comes through your actions and

4:13

your thoughts. If you hang around long enough

4:15

and you pay attention and you're leaning into this and leaning forward

4:17

all the time, you're gonna be happy. I promise you that. But

4:20

any case, when you do your homework that just

4:22

means at the end of this program you ask yourself this one

4:24

question, how's my life going? Let

4:27

those answers flood you. Have

4:30

some courage. Do what

4:32

it takes to make sure you get what you want. And

4:35

even if you don't know how to do it, just have some faith that if you

4:37

just kind of believe that you can make

4:40

it happen, you make it happen. Might

4:42

not be easy but you're gonna get to there. I promise you that.

4:44

If not, I'll remind you tomorrow. How's that? Or at least next week.

4:47

Do your homework. Plan

4:50

B. Have you ever wondered how

4:53

most successful people in the world get

4:55

that way? Success to me is

4:57

defining something that you want and then making it happen.

4:59

So it could be anything. It could be just going

5:01

to the beach every day. I don't care. It could

5:03

be becoming an attorney. It could be

5:05

making a lot of money. It doesn't really matter. I'm

5:08

not defining it like a billionaire. I mean, is

5:10

a billionaire really successful? I mean really. Mark Cuban.

5:12

People always talk about Mark Cuban, a billionaire. Listen,

5:15

the dude just came up with a broadcast.com and

5:17

sold it for a billion dollars and it's now

5:19

out of business. How is that

5:21

successful? I don't know. How do you

5:23

define it? But

5:25

they get there in a certain way. Could

5:28

it be their timing is right? Yeah,

5:31

certainly. Absolutely. This is a rising

5:33

pool many times. I'm reading the book Unreasonable Success.

5:35

They talk about that. Richard Koch talks about that.

5:38

It's true. There's no doubt. Sometimes whatever

5:40

you're doing happens at a time when

5:42

the pool is rising. It's all the whole boat's

5:44

rise together, right? Sometimes your timing is dead

5:46

all right. That's how you get what you want. Sometimes you're going

5:48

against the tide. That's kind of hard. Do

5:51

they know somebody? Probably.

5:53

It's usually about the who. But

5:56

You're not going to know the person who really knows how to do it until you

5:58

work your way up. You're going to know the people around you. People just got

6:00

of. I can meet the right person. the most successful for some

6:02

of the planet. If somebody really knew there were doing it they

6:04

would just helped me get there and see this all the time

6:07

and I have a lot to give. Why won't he held me.

6:09

You have nothing and com o somebody that level. You.

6:12

Have something and com and more with the people ride around you.

6:14

That's why. So get to know the people, ride

6:16

around you and as you grow you'll find people that

6:18

may be no more than you and you just rise

6:20

right up as it works. The

6:22

Gop together. Is

6:25

luck? oh what's it gonna be like. Sports

6:28

person. The great

6:30

job at at House at which a habit

6:32

house. Oh

6:35

so much timings involves identify over and I'm thinking

6:37

about the pandemic and housing prices. Of thinking about

6:39

that is it looked at certain people were able

6:41

to buy houses. Of doesn't

6:43

know. They plan they

6:46

had some assets in when things but round they got the

6:48

appreciation they real be use by the the house. Interest rates

6:50

went down because entities in credit they were able to do

6:52

that is that like. Yes

6:54

and no. I mean. You. Know.

6:57

Timing. If you're eighteen years old, you miss

6:59

that, right? didn't you? But not by Biswas right before as

7:01

well. Like comes into play. Sometimes is

7:04

because you're prepared, are ready to go. Sometimes the

7:06

timing is good news, bad, sometimes is pure luck.

7:08

I don't know how people get successful as crazy. We start thinking

7:11

about this if you see why this is so hard. But.

7:14

If you think about little bit more. Every

7:16

person I ever know who was achieve

7:18

remarkable success did three things. Number one.

7:22

They. Recognized what they wanted and

7:24

envision themselves living that life. As

7:26

the first thing with clarity. You.

7:29

Have to believe that. By the way, if you don't believe it, Immediate

7:31

recognize and is a sword really want to do and this is a

7:33

question I ask all the time in coaching people seem to say the

7:36

stupid is as want to want to do and I said really. And

7:39

that's kind of it. Like one word and

7:41

it breaks the whole thing. It breaks. Third, Base.

7:43

Their whole thought pattern. That. Really to

7:45

some of Europe's really believe you can do it. During

7:48

you have you envision Zoc. You know how. The

7:51

day the you actually can picture exactly what you want.

7:53

you get excited about go with it. but remember your

7:55

mind once had pictures at your mind sometimes gets lazy.

7:58

Your. mind is only go to work it's already imagined.

8:01

So they understand something. They understand that not

8:03

only they must envision it, they must get

8:05

beyond that mind satisfaction and start putting the

8:07

work in so they go create it. That's

8:09

number one. Number two, at some point, everybody

8:13

commits and goes all-in. Their

8:16

dream is going to happen.

8:18

There is no plan B.

8:21

Elena got married this past weekend. I

8:23

remember sitting on the floor when she was a teenager and

8:25

she was working through the process of med school, the MCAT,

8:27

she couldn't pass the test. Decided she

8:29

wasn't gonna be a doctor. She said, man, I gotta do it.

8:32

Decided to be an EMT and while she was being

8:34

an EMT, one of the paramedics, Scott, said, you have

8:37

no idea you're a doctor. You just got to get

8:39

through the process. And this

8:41

one random paramedic that talked to her when she

8:43

was very young got into her and made

8:45

her believe it. And at

8:47

that point she said to me, she says, Scott, there's no plan

8:49

B. I'm gonna be a doctor. Fourth-year

8:53

residency right now. Pediatric

8:55

psychiatry and she told

8:57

me just at her wedding just a few days

8:59

ago, there's no plan B. The only

9:02

way to do it. So people

9:04

envision what they want. They get busy doing

9:06

it taking the action and there is no

9:08

other option. That's it.

9:10

As they say, you burned the boats. Come

9:12

ashore, burn the boats and you have no choice. Are

9:15

you committed that much? Are you willing to do that? I'm

9:17

committed. I'm making a change to my business model. I've told

9:19

everybody you can hear it every single day. In

9:22

the coming months by the end of the year you'll see me moving

9:24

in a different direction. I am 100% committed.

9:26

Not gonna throw this away. This is good stuff. I like doing

9:28

this. But I've decided I have

9:30

something else I want to do. I'm

9:32

going after it. There is no plan B. I told my wife.

9:34

I said, get ready. I'm gonna mess this place up for about

9:36

six months. And man, I'm doing a great

9:38

job at that. Do you do that? Are you willing to accept

9:40

it? There is no plan B except what you've decided you're going

9:42

after. Number three, no matter

9:45

what gets in the way, folks

9:48

who get it practice never-ending flexibility and perseverance.

9:50

You've heard this for years. They

9:52

keep going until they get what they want. That's

9:55

it. That's the only option. Tired,

9:59

frustrated, It takes longer than you think,

10:02

costs more, having trouble paying the

10:04

bills. I'm talking to a friend yesterday, having

10:07

a real hard time paying some bills. I

10:10

said, you know what? It's like I want to do this.

10:12

This is my dream. I've envisioned this. I'm going after it.

10:14

I'm going to make this happen. I'm committed to it,

10:16

but I can't pay my bills and I don't want to go to

10:18

a part-time job. I said, my friend, you have to do

10:20

both. You have to go

10:23

work part-time, make as much money as you can, and as soon as

10:25

you get done, you have to go do your plan B. No plan

10:27

B. You have to go do your plan A. You

10:29

have to do it. He said, yeah, it's just hard. It's like 18 hours a day. I

10:32

said, that's how you do it. You

10:34

have no choice. If you're committed to what you're

10:36

going to do, you make that plan. You don't

10:38

turn back. You do whatever it takes, and

10:41

that may change every single day. Never

10:44

ever losing sight of what you're going after. You

10:47

do that, you're joining a very special group of people, and

10:49

that are those people you're probably looking at right

10:51

now saying, man, I wish what they had. The

10:54

thing is, you don't know exactly what they went through, and

10:56

there's no possible way they could do anything but tell you

10:58

like I'm telling you right now, but you can't believe it

11:01

until you experience it. So

11:03

recognize and envision what

11:06

you really want in any area of your life.

11:10

Commit to go all in. There is no

11:12

plan B. The dream is going to happen,

11:15

and no matter what gets in the way, I

11:17

want this never-ending flexibility and perseverance.

11:21

Keep going until you get what you want. Why

11:23

would you stop before you get there unwell?

11:28

Good question, but the answer is because somebody upset

11:30

you. You got tired, or you ran out

11:32

of money? You lost your faith in

11:34

your belief. Yes, good

11:36

question, good answers too. Get

11:43

back up. And begin,

11:45

and begin, and begin again. Thank

11:53

you.
