Cut a rug and fiddle up a storm at the annual Vandalia Gathering -- set for Memorial Day Weekend at the State Capitol Complex…the USDA and Generation WV partner up to bring high-speed internet to rural areas in southern WV… and here’s your WV State Parks summer bucket list packed with outdoor adventures…on today’s daily304.

#1 – From WV CULTURE –  Mark your calendars for May 24-26. That’s when the annual Vandalia Gathering brings together music, dancing, stories, crafts, food and fun to the State Capitol Complex in Charleston. 

The free event features traditional Appalachian music and dance demonstrations and contests, with lots of audience participation. You’ll be toe-tapping all day long!

#2 – From WV PRESS – The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development West Virginia is partnering with Generation West Virginia to support high-speed internet services in rural areas of southern West Virginia.

Rural Development is awarding $610,116 through the Broadband Technical Assistance Program. These funds will be used to promote the expansion of high-speed internet in Lincoln, McDowell, Webster and Fayette counties in West Virginia.

Generation West Virginia, in partnership with Thrasher Engineering and Regional Optical Communications Inc., will utilize funding to provide technical assistance to support the expansion of broadband services in rural areas of southern West Virginia.
