Save the date -- West Virginia’s National Hunting and FIshing Day returns to Stonewall Resort in September … applications are open for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program … and the WV Economic Development Authority has the tools to help your business succeed … on today’s daily304.

#1 – From WV EXPLORER – Mark your calendars! West Virginia’s National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration will return to Stonewall Resort State Park in Roanoke on September 21.

The annual event promotes hunting and fishing traditions in the Mountain State and has become a hallmark event for youth enthusiastic about wildlife conservation and outdoor adventure, according to Brett McMillion, director of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. 

With the return of last year’s popular new attraction, “A Taste of State Parks,” visitors will also get to sample a variety of wild game, Appalachian favorites, and signature dishes from West Virginia state parks.

#2 – From WESTVIRGINIA.GOV –  The West Virginia Department of Economic Development and West Virginia Office of Energy announce the release of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program for local governments and nonprofits to implement energy efficiency retrofits.

WVOE plans to offer 35 energy efficiency retrofit grants of up to $37,000 for local governments and 14 energy efficiency retrofit grants of up to $25,000 for rural communities serving nonprofits that improve energy efficiency and reduce energy expenses.

Applications are due by June 14 and can be found at energywv.org/eecbg.

#3 – From WV EDA – The West Virginia Economic Development Authority is made up of a team of expert loan officers and financial specialists knowledgeable in streamlining processes to help West Virginia businesses succeed. 

The WV EDA has the authority to provide financial assistance to industrial development agencies and enterprises for the promotion and retention of new and existing commercial and industrial development.
