Join experimental filmmaker and poet Elizabeth J Cassidy on this week's podcast to learn how to think outside of the box to stand out as a filmmaker. We discuss how to find funding for your films as an independent filmmaker and dealing with discrimination as a female director. Elizabeth also discusses her transition from acting to directing.
Elizabeth has worked in the film industry for the past five years. She started out as an actress performing at the Southwark Playhouse in 'The Fifth Column' and also appeared in Grantchester. Elizabeth has trained as an actress at Anthony Meindl's Acting Workshops and still trains there occasionally. Over the past three years, Elizabeth has started to move into the production side of the industry, co-producing her first short film with Skylark Vision Limited, 'Res', and working as a production co-ordinator on the indie film 'Homeless Ashes', directed by Marc Zammit. Since then, Elizabeth has been studying English and Film at King's College London and working as the videographer for the student union.
Over the past year, Elizabeth has started making short film poems and is currently in production with 'The Mirror' and in pre-production with 'I Am Not Your Muse'. She is releasing her most current film poem, 'The Wave', in the coming weeks.
