DeAnne Smith is a comedian, writer, and columnist.

Nathan Hartswick is a performer, educator, and the co-owner of Vermont Comedy Club, a 160-seat standup, improv, and sketch comedy venue located in downtown Burlington, VT. Nathan and his wife Natalie Miller opened the venue in 2015, and it has quickly become one of the most well-regarded clubs in the country. In addition to operating the business day to day, Nathan performs weekly with its mainstage improv team, The Unmentionables, which has been featured on festivals from Montreal to New York to California. Nathan teaches classes and workshops in improv and standup at VCC and around the country. He has studied extensively with instructors from Upright Citizens Brigade, The Second City and iO. In addition, Nathan was voted “Best VT Standup Comedian” in 2012 and 2013 by readers of Seven Days, was a semifinalist in the Funniest Comic in New England contest in 2012, and won the Higher Ground Comedy Battle in 2011. In 2012, Nathan was a recipient of Vermont Business Magazine’s “Rising Stars” award, which honors 40 Vermont professionals under the age of 40.
