Omg....this podcast makes me feel totally nostalgic. There is something so naive, yet incredibly poetic about the musings of a pre-teen-teenage girl. The insecurities, the hopes, the dreams. This is such an innovative podcast. I love it and hope you will check it out too.
Cracking podcast, am trying not to binge listen too much as I don't want to run out... the plan is failing as I'm over halfway through the available episodes. Great hosts and a really good listen. You should absolutely subscribe to hear more of this gem.
While listening I constantly found myself asking, are we sure it wasn’t my diary she’s reading? I loved being put smack dab back at age 11 and feeling everything Lauren read. Can’t wait to keep listening!!
Well... This is a show unlike anything I’ve listened to thus far. A husband and wife combo present the wife’s teenage diary with the husband mocking it.The show has a very, very clear audio quality to it. It begins by recapping what happened in the previous episodes - the show is episodic so if you aren’t starting at the beginning (you monster) it brings you up to speed nicely. The theme then kicks in before the show starts. That theme really captures the tone of the show too by the way. There’s something sadistically enjoyable about hearing someone go over/laugh at their teenage life. They reflect upon and analyse the events within the diary too. Sean and Lauren provide their audience with an insight in to the life of a teenage British girl.If you’re looking for something a little different to the news shows, YouTuber’s and true crime etc out there, give these folks a try!Don’t forget to write in your diary.
What a wholesome podcast. Speaking as an American, I felt like I got way more than I bargained for in terms of getting an insight of an 11 year old girl in early 2000s Britian. But what really sells this podcast for me was the chemistry between Sean and Lauren; you can tell that despite the banter about the absurdity of the thoughts of a young girl, they do care for each other and it only makes the humor betterMy first episode with them was Chubeular Bells, where she describes her last day at school which was rained out. It's funny, it's bittersweet, but perhaps the biggest mystery is where the song Chubeular Bells came from and its disputed original country. I have never been so caught up in the lore of an 11 year old girl, but I am glad that it can be as funny as this.Check these guys out!
The concept of this podcast is nuts, I love it. Laying it all out for everyone to hear about the joys of teenage life, very brave. The host is a great storyteller!
Dear Diary Keep Out is such a great, simple and creative premise. It's funny, the hosts are engaging, and it's a fascinating look back into the awkward times from younger days. Beyond that, it often explores the issues in context to the things discussed from the diary. It's endearing and genuine. Give them a listen and subscribe now!
