For the next ten days, this show will be releasing a show a day in support of mental health awareness day that starts today!
In October 2019 equal engineers.com published a survey: Masculinity in engineering 2019. The survey addresses why men working in the construction and engineering sector are 3.7 times more likely to complete suicide than the national average. In a workforce that is 89% men, this survey is one of the first of its kind. I welcome back to the show Andy Bishop who as an engineer and a mental health advocate is the perfect voice to explore why the suicide rate is so high, and what can be done to help those who suffer in silence.
