Take a deep breath in
0:30
through your nose. Hold
0:33
it.
0:36
Now release slowly
0:43
again deep
0:46
in helle hold
0:55
release, repeating
1:02
internally to yourself as
1:04
you connect to my voice.
1:08
I am deeply, deeply
1:10
well. I
1:15
I am deeply
1:17
well.
1:22
I am
1:24
deeply well.
1:30
I'm Debbie Brown and
1:32
this is the Deeply Well Podcast.
1:43
Welcome to the first episode
1:46
of twenty twenty four.
1:49
Welcome to the Deeply Well Podcast.
1:51
It's Debbie Brown. I am so happy
1:54
to be back with you. Took a little winter
1:56
break, hibernated a little,
1:58
got refreshed, and now
2:00
I'm back for the new year.
2:02
And wow.
2:04
First, I want to recapitulate a little
2:06
bit about some observations,
2:08
some deep knowings and connections
2:11
that I've been having since we last connected
2:13
on this podcast. And then
2:15
this episode, I'm going to lead you in
2:18
a New Year meditation.
2:21
So before we really even get going,
2:23
depending on where you're listening to this, I
2:25
want to just invite you to get
2:28
anything comfortable that you may need for a little
2:30
later in this episode, if that's a pillow,
2:32
a little incense so
2:34
that we can really kind of sync into that meditation
2:37
together, and also
2:39
grab a journal, piece of
2:41
paper pen you can of course use
2:43
your notes in your phone, but something
2:45
might pop out, especially when we get towards
2:48
our intention setting and that meditation,
2:50
so those might be the tools
2:53
that can really aid you in this episode.
2:55
But wherever you are and however you're listening
2:57
to this, it is absolutely perfect.
3:00
I'm just glad you're here this
3:04
time of year. So right now we're
3:06
a couple of days into the new year, and
3:09
I'm actually where I always am right
3:11
around this time. I am in Los
3:13
Cabos, Mexico, or the
3:15
Baja Peninsula, that last
3:18
little tale of what
3:20
used to be California or Baja California,
3:22
Sir, And oh
3:26
God, being here jazz fills
3:30
my soul in
3:32
a way that language cannot convey.
3:35
This is one of my absolute favorite
3:38
places on Earth, and
3:40
it's always fun for me to think of. And I share
3:42
this like maybe two seasons ago, but
3:46
a while back when I had gotten my
3:48
astrology topography
3:51
done, which is
3:53
where you map your astrology chart,
3:55
but it's mapped on the actual
3:57
planet of Earth, so it lets you
3:59
know you know where your places of power
4:02
are, what areas of the world
4:04
might be really meaningful or
4:07
powerful or important to you, and
4:09
what parts of the world maybe have some negative
4:12
charge or are not most aligned
4:14
for your travels. So I got that done
4:16
a really long time ago, and I
4:18
had shared this on a previous episode, but it
4:21
was funny you because you know, I have some
4:23
pretty good energy almost everywhere. Definitely
4:25
a few places with that I should stay away
4:28
from. But two
4:30
places specifically are
4:33
shown as my most
4:36
kind of aligned placements,
4:38
like two places in the entire
4:41
world, based on my astrology
4:43
chart are exactly where I should be spending
4:45
time. And those two places happen
4:48
to be where I spend the most time, of course.
4:50
The first is Los Angeles, where I was born
4:52
and raised and lived now, and the
4:55
second is the
4:58
Baja Cabo San Lucas, And
5:01
it was really cool to see that because in both
5:03
of those places I feel absolutely
5:06
my highest, deepest, most connected
5:09
self. But many years
5:11
ago, when I first started visiting
5:13
Cabo, I fell in love
5:15
with this time of year because it
5:18
is when the blue and
5:20
humpback whales come
5:22
over from I believe Antarctica
5:25
area or you know, maybe Alaska,
5:27
where it's very cold, and
5:29
they make their way to the warm waters
5:31
of the Baja to have their
5:33
babies and to also teach their
5:35
babies and make babies and
5:39
so usually this time of year. I
5:41
mean, my God, it is just it
5:47
is just the most breath
5:50
taking experience for me. I'm
5:52
definitely a solar powered girl. I've
5:54
always said that my
5:57
soul thrives in the sun, and I love
5:59
the feeling of sun
6:02
rays and warmth and sunshine on
6:04
my skin, and I love staring
6:06
at the sun and seeing it in my eyes. But
6:08
I'm also really deeply connected
6:10
to the ocean, and I'm such
6:13
a devotee of all
6:15
bodies of water. I find
6:17
them to be just one of the
6:19
most obviously
6:21
powerful elements, but one
6:24
of the most powerful spiritual
6:26
experiences for me. They
6:28
always help me release, detox,
6:31
purify, and just feel
6:33
even more connected to God, myself
6:35
and my meditation practice. So the
6:37
ocean is huge for me, and
6:40
the sand and all the things, and here
6:43
this time of year, being
6:46
able to have that heat, that
6:48
warmth, that glory of the sun,
6:50
and the just exquisite
6:53
Sea of Cortes and it meets
6:55
the Pacific here and to
6:58
see these magnificent
7:02
creatures breach the water
7:04
and jump out and
7:07
play and splash. It's just
7:10
it is such a medicine
7:14
for me. And it is also such a profoundly
7:17
pleasurable experience for me. It
7:20
grounds me, it opens me. And
7:23
I have an episode that I actually recorded this time
7:25
last year, which it was really cool
7:27
to find out. Whenever I'm kind of out
7:29
and about and I have
7:32
the beautiful opportunity to connect with
7:34
those that listen to the show, I
7:36
have found that this last year, the episode
7:39
everyone talks about the most of me is
7:41
actually my whale episode
7:44
that I did around New Year's last year.
7:48
I had this profound experience
7:50
of watching two whales
7:53
breach.
7:53
The water.
7:55
Over seventy five times in a row,
7:58
like it went over the course of an hour, and
8:00
we got it on video, and I was with some of my friends
8:02
and we were just kind of like sitting on
8:05
the edge of this cliff looking
8:07
out at the ocean, and
8:10
these two whales started playing together
8:12
and just jumping out of the water
8:15
over and over and over again.
8:18
And I don't even mean like just like a little flap
8:21
of like the tail or the fin or good
8:26
Lord, give me the languish, not the arms.
8:28
I know, it's the sea mammal, y'all
8:30
know what I'm saying. But
8:34
seeing them like like full
8:37
free willie breach like you are up out
8:39
that thing tail all the way out
8:41
and you are backflipping. It
8:44
was so special, my God. So
8:46
that experience happened last year, and
8:49
it's been really interesting because this is
8:52
the very first and I do this
8:54
every single year for the last several
8:56
years. This is how I kind of embark
8:59
on my New Year, spending time with
9:01
the whales in the ocean and my little
9:03
one, my sweet boy Quest. And
9:06
so this
9:08
year that I've been here, there
9:10
are a lot of whales out, but
9:13
I haven't seen any, not
9:16
a single one. I've seen
9:18
a couple tales, but I've seen no breaches
9:20
this trip. And I was
9:22
thinking about that, you know, and of course my
9:25
mind is like, well, what does that mean, and what's
9:27
the symbolism? And
9:30
I remembered my message from last year
9:32
when I saw that really extraordinary sight,
9:34
And last year what that brought forward
9:37
to me was a message
9:39
that God was sharing, which was that miraculous
9:42
will now become ordinary. You will
9:45
see so much
9:47
that takes your breath away, or that invokes
9:49
you, or that seems
9:53
so on inspiring, even
9:56
bizarre miraculous, that it
9:58
will become ordinary. You
10:00
will be used to it in the best way. And
10:03
this year, the word that has
10:06
been coming forward for me in my life is
10:09
simply presence. My intention is
10:11
to be in deep presence with
10:14
my life, with love, with
10:20
the experience of being alive. And
10:24
that really rings true. You know,
10:27
this is not necessarily the year I
10:29
need to have some big, grand
10:33
experience to bring
10:36
me in with enthusiasm. I currently
10:38
feel so incredibly
10:41
full of a
10:43
gorgeously grounded excitement,
10:46
a gorgeously grounded enthusiasm,
10:48
and a deep trust
10:51
in life and in truth and in divine
10:53
timing and divine order.
10:54
And so.
10:56
I've just seen a few way of tales,
10:59
but some that I have been seen connected
11:01
to nature a lot. This trip has been
11:06
so many close encounters with
11:08
large birds. There's
11:11
this huge species
11:13
of bird here and I'm not sure if it's part of
11:15
the pelican species. It
11:18
looks very much like a pelican from the beak,
11:21
but it has a little bit more of like a brown
11:24
feathering and body. But
11:26
anyway, where I am there are like hundreds
11:29
of them, and I've never seen them here before, but
11:31
all of a sudden they're here, and every single
11:33
day they're hunting in the water, they're
11:35
feeding in the water, and it's been
11:37
really cool to watch them in these like huge
11:40
clusters, like a hundred at a time. And
11:43
I was taking this long walk on the
11:45
beach near me that I always meditate
11:47
on because it's always empty
11:50
and the waters are a little too rough to swim,
11:52
but you can kind of get in
11:54
it as much as you can stand. So
11:57
I usually walk the beach
11:59
and it's probably about a mile stretch
12:01
each way I walk
12:03
in and I meditate it on
12:05
it, and I pray there every
12:08
day on my trip. And so
12:11
I was taking that walk, and there
12:14
was about a hundred birds, which might
12:18
seem scary actually because they're pretty
12:20
huge and their hunters,
12:24
but I walked and I was just so close
12:26
to them that I felt like I was in like
12:29
a National geographic
12:31
documentary, you know, Like I felt
12:33
like I was one of those people that goes out
12:36
and just kind of lurks and silence
12:38
behind a bush and captures all this footage.
12:41
And I just got to stand there and
12:44
stare at them and
12:46
watch them, you know, kind of go really
12:48
high up in the air, and then they do this like really
12:51
extreme and steep beak
12:54
dive straight into the water to get their
12:57
fish or you know, whatever little creature
13:00
that they feast on. And
13:02
they were just doing it over and over and over
13:04
again, and I was watching them glide
13:06
through the air and fly and
13:10
it was just special. I just really appreciated
13:12
it, and I felt like it
13:15
was so resonant with the calling that's on my
13:18
heart for this new year. The leading language
13:21
that comes forward for me for myself, and
13:23
I offer it to you if it fits, is
13:26
that what God has for me is
13:28
enough. That's
13:30
a quote from my friend Jazz
13:33
Fly Rest in Peace that
13:37
she used to say. And
13:39
every year it seems to connect
13:42
with me more and more in a deeper way
13:44
whenever I think of it. But that
13:46
is really the calling of my heart
13:48
for this entire year,
13:51
what God has for me is enough.
13:53
I feel so full in my life
13:57
that it's
14:01
just enough. Nothing
14:04
has to be better, more grander.
14:07
This like I feel
14:09
present, I feel in purpose. I
14:12
feel ready
14:14
to continue doing the work of my life,
14:16
ready to continue loving my son
14:19
to my highest capabilities, loving myself
14:21
to my highest capabilities. And
14:24
I'm just ready to
14:26
continue to move through
14:29
the world and through my life and through
14:31
my community and my connections with
14:34
the deep integration of
14:38
what in who I've become in this moment in time,
14:40
this current version. So yeah,
14:44
I'm resting in God at the moment. My
14:47
friend Sheila, actually that's a quote of hers that
14:49
I really love. I'm resting in God,
14:51
I'm resting in my life. I'm resting
14:54
in my truth. I'm resting
14:56
in peace, resting, and enthusiasm.
15:00
But it feels really good. And this
15:02
is a year that I am
15:05
deeply focused on the
15:08
truth of my life and what is present
15:11
in my life. I feel
15:13
highly focused on the friendships,
15:15
the connections, the love in my life
15:17
that is present, that is active,
15:20
that is open, that's available, that's
15:22
reciprocal, and
15:24
that's it. So yeah,
15:26
that feels good for me. That's some of what I've come into
15:28
and my experiences with nature
15:32
while I'm here in Cabo, and
15:34
also this time of year is really special. I
15:36
always love to pepper it really
15:39
through the whole month of January.
15:41
I usually start at the end of October
15:45
thinking about the new year and
15:47
recapitulating over the last year and
15:49
really taking stock of and looking
15:51
at and observing what's true,
15:54
what isn't. Where did I
15:56
focus my energy and how
15:58
did that pay off or not, you
16:01
know, but just kind of taking it in information.
16:04
How did my connection with this person
16:06
manifest or not, you know, and
16:09
just noticing and just kind
16:11
of releasing any stagnant energy,
16:14
releasing anything that
16:16
needs to go, and making room
16:19
for anything that is coming,
16:21
and making room for the things that are staying
16:24
to be able to expand
16:27
in whatever ways that they're meant to. So
16:30
when I usually get down here around
16:32
Christmas time, I
16:35
start my process of thinking
16:38
about the joy, thinking about
16:40
the challenge, thinking about the grief, thinking
16:42
about the intention, but
16:45
not getting too definitive about any of it,
16:47
Journaling a little, meditating, praying,
16:50
and then when New Year's Day kicks
16:52
in, I usually spend almost
16:54
all of New Year's Day meditating,
16:58
praying, walking, kind
17:00
of isolating a little, being in nature,
17:02
and journaling quite a bit. And
17:05
so that's what I did this year. And yeah,
17:09
the meditations were potent. It felt
17:11
so good. So my New Year's
17:14
Eve was pretty incredible.
17:16
Actually, I went to a party here
17:18
in Cabo. It was on the beach
17:20
and it was it was kind of super random, but it
17:23
was amazing the performers that I got
17:25
to see. I saw my
17:27
friend Yvonne came down with me. Von
17:29
Orgy, who of course I know many
17:31
know from her amazing, amazing work
17:34
in the world and all of the
17:36
powerful, beautiful ways she shows up
17:38
in life.
17:40
And we came down and we
17:43
were spending time together and celebrating the New Year
17:45
together. So she and I went
17:47
to this party and
17:50
the Jonas Brothers were performing, and
17:53
so did Robin Thick, and
17:55
it was so fun. First of I didn't know
17:58
like how many hits they had, and I was like,
18:00
what, I know this song, and
18:02
then to just kind of like hear Robin Thick
18:04
hit that lost without show
18:07
and then just look over into the water. It
18:10
was awesome. Music
18:13
was playing. We danced all night,
18:16
ran into some new friends, caught
18:20
up with a couple old friends that I ran into,
18:22
So it was a lot of fun. It
18:24
was a lot of celebratory energy. My
18:27
son had his own New Year's party, but his countdown
18:29
was at like eight o'clock, so I was like, ah, it's
18:32
midnight, Go to sleep, little boy.
18:35
So that was really fun. And then the
18:37
next day I had a chance
18:39
with just an incredibly
18:43
dear friend, deep friend
18:45
and personal Sheiro. She and I
18:47
kind of went out on a walk on the beach and prayed
18:50
and meditated together and it was just
18:52
the absolute perfect kickoff
18:55
to this New year. Year
18:57
year deeply, well,
19:01
so we're in twenty twenty four, and
19:04
numerologically speaking, this
19:07
is an eight year and so
19:09
in terms of like the astrology that
19:12
is present for this year, the transits,
19:15
and in terms of numerology, it's
19:17
really supposed to be a
19:22
year of new beginnings, a breakthrough
19:24
year of peace for many. And
19:27
I was looking back at some old journals of mine,
19:29
and I am like a prolific journaler.
19:32
I journal a lot,
19:34
and I take really extensive
19:37
notes on my life in my calendar.
19:39
I'm very detailed about kind
19:41
of everyone I talk to, everything I do, every
19:44
meeting, I have, every place that I go, and
19:47
I also journal throughout the year and date it. So
19:49
at the end of the year, I like to look over a lot of that
19:51
too, And I was looking
19:54
over many journals and I
19:56
found this journal from twenty twenty and
19:59
for those that were part of Karma Gang in twenty
20:01
twenty, which was a cohort that I ran and
20:03
taught meditation. And I
20:07
remember the question I posed everyone,
20:09
and I had done
20:11
this challenge right when the pandemic started,
20:14
where.
20:19
I really.
20:22
Kind of shared with
20:26
people in my audience at that time that
20:29
I believed that the pandemic was
20:31
going to be the greatest gift of their lives
20:33
and of our lives, and that everyone
20:36
should consider using the time. And
20:38
at the time that I said this, we thought we only had
20:41
two weeks of lockdown in LA But
20:43
at the time that I said this, it
20:47
was at the very beginning of the pandemic. Like
20:49
the very first start, we had no idea
20:51
we were going to be in the house for a year or two years.
20:54
We thought it would be a couple of weeks. But
20:56
I remember I shared with everyone,
20:59
I said, this time is truly
21:01
an opportunity to know
21:03
who you are and to work on yourself
21:05
and to become who you've wanted to be. Do
21:08
not waste this opportunity to
21:10
be still and to be disconnected. Do
21:13
your work. And a prompt
21:15
that I gave everyone to start working with four
21:17
years ago was who
21:19
are you being called to become? Who
21:22
are you being called to become? And
21:24
a statement I shared a prayer that I shared
21:27
was God, please show me the
21:29
truth of my life.
21:35
Looking back now
21:37
that we've come forward and it's
21:39
been four years, I
21:41
was looking through some of the things I wrote in
21:44
my journal for myself, and
21:46
I was kind of embarking on a
21:49
lot at that time, and
21:52
one of the things that I wrote down was that
21:54
I knew that
21:57
life was going to be really challenging
22:00
twenty twenty four. For
22:03
whatever reasons, God gave me this
22:05
exact year in twenty
22:07
twenty, and I had no way to any
22:10
idea know what was going to come, what
22:12
was going to happen, how crazy the world was
22:14
going to get, how textured
22:19
and interesting my own life.
22:20
Was going to get.
22:26
That I felt then really
22:29
strongly that I was in perhaps
22:31
a four year cycle of deep,
22:34
profound learning in every
22:36
facet of my life.
22:39
Four years are It's
22:41
a really interesting span of time
22:43
to me because I always think
22:45
about our school system, and I think
22:48
about high school and college, and I think about,
22:50
you know, four years being a real milestone
22:54
of education and learning
22:56
and personal
22:58
advancement in our development
23:01
as growing humans and
23:03
going from adolescent into adult and adult
23:05
to you know, kind of young
23:07
adult moving in the world. And so I
23:10
really sense that that's what I was
23:12
settling into in my own life in twenty
23:14
twenty. And so now that we're
23:17
at twenty twenty four, I've really been looking
23:19
back on who I've become and what I've
23:21
healed, and you know what
23:23
shifts in perspective I've had. And
23:28
I am incredibly grateful
23:31
that I spent the last four years
23:33
being massively
23:37
present with my work and being
23:41
diligent and consistent about
23:44
my self work and the work that I was
23:47
sharing in the world. And so yeah,
23:50
when I look at twenty twenty four, it
23:53
was pretty cool to see the astrological
23:57
and numerological kind
23:59
of we're casting around it. But yeah,
24:02
it feels good. I'm ready for new beginnings
24:04
in a bunch of ways. And I'm also
24:07
present and deeply
24:09
steeped into the
24:11
beauty and the truth of
24:14
my current life and the life
24:16
I've created and all the creations that
24:18
will come. So I say
24:20
all that to say, I hope that
24:22
you are sinking into this year with
24:25
a reverence for yourself and
24:28
all that you have done
24:31
and also all that you have not done right,
24:33
like the things that you may have taken off your plate,
24:35
the ways you may have rested over
24:37
this last year.
24:39
All of it, all of it, all
24:41
of it is gold. It's needed,
24:44
it's beautiful. So
24:48
if you haven't done this yet, but I'm sure you
24:50
have because you listen to this show, take
24:52
a little extra time to journal and
24:55
for this year, you know,
24:57
and this advice may fit or it may not,
24:59
But if you are feeling connected
25:01
to my frequency and my timeline, then
25:04
I would say
25:06
this year, when you start to dream,
25:09
when you start to think, really
25:14
connect your desires with the ways
25:16
that you want to feel, and
25:18
let the universe surprise you
25:21
with the road it takes you to get there
25:23
and the experiences that
25:26
it gives you to get there. This
25:29
feels like a year of.
25:33
Surprise and delight, especially
25:37
for those that have done their work,
25:40
that have cleared the path, that have created
25:42
the space inside to
25:44
receive and to hold
25:49
love and healing and happiness
25:52
and peace. And if you're listening
25:55
to things that I'm sharing, and if
25:57
any way it feels charged or triggering, because
25:59
that's not your experience right now,
26:02
I really want to invite you to know that everything
26:05
happens in seasons. And if you happen
26:07
to be in a season of confusion
26:09
or disappointment, or at
26:12
the very beginning and it feels like you're
26:15
looking up at the mountain and
26:18
cannot understand how you'll scale
26:20
it in climate, you
26:23
can and you
26:25
will. And these seasons
26:28
of grief and of confusion
26:31
are incredibly powerful
26:34
and beautiful and
26:37
miraculous.
26:40
Two.
26:42
So, wherever you happen to be on your journey,
26:44
trust and accept that it is by divine
26:46
design, and really invite
26:48
yourself to not have all the answers
26:51
and to surrender to the mystery
26:53
of it, to
26:56
the unknown.
26:57
Quality of all of it.
26:59
And focus
27:01
on regulating your nervous
27:03
system. Focus on nourishing
27:07
your heart, your physical body, your
27:09
mind, your soul. This year,
27:12
focus on building your tolerance
27:14
for joy and your capacity to experience
27:17
it. And know
27:20
that you will graduate from this moment
27:22
too, and enjoy the journey
27:24
while you're there. As
27:27
strange as that may feel, especially if
27:29
you're in a moment that you don't necessarily like
27:31
or love or want to be connected to. These
27:37
beautiful moments are
27:39
what create the space for
27:42
the ease, for the grace, for the joy,
27:44
for the.
27:44
Beauty of it all.
27:46
And you will have it all, and you deserve
27:48
to have it all, and you're worthy of
27:51
having all of those feelings. And
27:53
when I say have it all, I
27:55
don't necessarily mean things of the
27:57
world. Whatever's in your path will come to
27:59
you from wherever it happens to be,
28:03
but I mean having
28:06
it all in sense of having access
28:08
to all of your parts, having
28:10
access to all of your crevices,
28:13
having access to all of your
28:15
own gifts and beauty.
28:21
I don't want to have
28:23
it all in terms of the world.
28:27
I want to have what's mine, and
28:30
I want to be a
28:33
tremendous shepherd and
28:36
steward of what's mine.
28:39
I don't need to have quote unquote
28:41
it all. I have enough,
28:45
and I want to get even more masterful and
28:47
refined and loving with
28:49
what's mine and creative with
28:51
what's mine
28:52
mine deeply.
28:55
Well, let's
28:58
get into this meditation. Everyone,
29:02
as you're able. I want you to get
29:04
nice and comfortable in a seated position.
29:07
Allow your spine
29:10
to be straight, your
29:13
stomach to be soft,
29:18
your body to be at
29:21
ease, and
29:25
just settle in right here.
29:29
Gently close your eyes, receive
29:37
a few deep breaths,
29:43
and allow your body to relax
29:47
as you simply breathe in
29:51
and out. And
29:55
as your eyes are closed and
29:57
your body is strong
30:00
yet soft and
30:02
you're connecting to these breaths,
30:06
I want you to really with
30:08
each inhale and exhale,
30:11
stretch your capacity to both
30:13
take the breath in and
30:17
release the breath slowly
30:20
and in full and
30:24
at some parts
30:27
of this pace
30:29
of breath that you're creating, you
30:32
may notice restriction, and
30:34
I want you to just release it and continue
30:36
to breathe into it and stretch
30:39
your ability to take in full,
30:41
nourishing breaths and
30:43
to release them with ease. And
30:47
as you're doing your inhales in
30:49
through your nose, allow
30:52
the breath to fill your belly
30:55
up first, and then
30:57
move slowly like an
30:59
elevator, up from your belly
31:02
into your chest, and
31:06
hold that breath for just a few
31:08
seconds there, and
31:13
then take the breath
31:17
and allow it to slowly
31:19
exhale through your nostrils like
31:23
a slow elevator, taking
31:25
a ride back down your
31:27
body to the base of
31:29
your belly until it's empty.
31:37
Continue to do this breath
31:40
throughout the meditation, deep
31:45
inhale,
31:50
hold it and
31:56
release slow and full.
32:02
Softly. Observe the breath.
32:04
As it flows in and out,
32:07
the rise and the fall of your belly
32:09
and your chest. And
32:12
notice how your body feels and
32:15
whether you are holding on to any
32:18
tension anywhere in your body.
32:22
Notice and release your jaw, Notice
32:27
and release your shoulders, release
32:33
your stomach, release
32:38
any tension that you may
32:41
be holding in your heart.
32:50
Essayist and poet Ralph Waldo
32:53
Emerson said, this
32:55
new day is too dear,
32:59
with its hope, hoops and invitations
33:04
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.
33:09
Oftentimes we allow the challenges
33:11
of yesterday to carry
33:14
over into a new day. We
33:18
bear the same burdens, we
33:21
tell ourselves the same stories,
33:26
and we recreate the same
33:28
emotions.
33:36
Yet each new year is like a clean
33:38
sheet of paper in the book of your
33:40
life.
33:43
Nothing has been written on it. You
33:48
alone get to decide how this
33:50
day will be recorded. Transformation
33:57
exists throughout all
33:59
of nature, Yet
34:02
conscious transformation, which
34:04
is sometimes referred to as
34:06
self directed evolution, is
34:10
a unique opportunity available
34:13
to us as humans. Self
34:17
directed transformation begins
34:20
with intention, the
34:22
deeply held intentions
34:25
of our heart. These
34:29
deeply held intentions, from
34:32
the deepest core
34:35
parts of our being trigger
34:38
changes in both mind
34:41
and body. Without
34:44
intention, personal
34:46
transformation remains at
34:49
the hidden level. In
34:54
what ways are you being
34:56
led to transform in
34:59
order to align with your highest
35:01
potential?
35:02
This year?
35:07
Conscious transformation invites
35:09
us to destroy the layers of habit,
35:12
ego, and illusion that
35:15
may have obscured our true self. When
35:22
we let go of everything, we
35:24
don't need. We
35:27
are left with our own
35:29
brilliant light.
35:35
I choose to bring joy into this
35:37
year. I
35:42
control what I can and
35:45
I let go of the rest.
35:52
I face all challenges
35:56
with calmness and
35:59
poise. I
36:05
look for the good in
36:07
everything and everyone.
36:16
Settling into your meditation practice
36:18
here, return
36:21
to noticing your breath for the
36:23
next few moments. I'll
36:31
watch the time. U
41:58
It has been said where
42:00
intention goes, energy
42:02
flows. What
42:06
is the intention you have for
42:08
your life this year? What
42:13
is the intention you
42:15
have for your heart this year?
42:22
What is the intention? Notice
42:35
what comes up without trying to control
42:38
the words, without
42:40
crafting them or contorting them or changing
42:43
them. Notice the
42:45
first few feelings that emerged
42:47
in your body as
42:51
I asked those questions. Notice
42:55
the words, the phrases, the
42:59
peace people that
43:02
may have come into your awareness. Trust
43:19
that what emerged within
43:21
you and around you as I asked those
43:23
questions.
43:26
Is in fact.
43:29
Your intuition, giving you the
43:32
intended path for this year. The
43:43
great Sufi poet Roomy has written,
43:46
if light is in your heart, you
43:48
will find your way home today
43:53
this year, Remember
43:56
that behind the mask of body
43:58
and mind, your meal
44:00
nature is infinite, unbounded
44:04
spirit. Take
44:07
another deep breath in here and
44:09
through your nose, and
44:14
as you excel, release it
44:16
with a sigh.
44:26
When you think about this next year, I
44:32
want you to push yourself past
44:36
the thoughts of what you may want to acquire,
44:39
what you may wish to accomplish
44:41
in the world in terms of
44:44
success, and
44:46
I want you to also think of what
44:51
would you like to heal this year, really
44:57
giving yourself the next force reasons
45:00
to explore it. What
45:03
would you like to heal this year and
45:17
what would you like to experience and
45:19
love this year. I
46:07
hope you'll spend some time revisiting
46:09
this meditation, come back to it anytime
46:11
you need to, and really
46:14
take some time to write
46:17
down and
46:20
hold in your awareness any
46:22
intentions that are coming forward. You
46:25
don't have to have it all wrapped up and complete
46:27
by the time this episode ends, or
46:29
even by the end of this month, but
46:35
really consider what's intended for your life.
46:43
Some final soul work I want to leave you for this
46:45
episode, something I'd like you to think
46:47
about all year long, but definitely
46:49
this week. Ask
46:54
yourself this question allowed,
47:02
how does God use me? How
47:07
does God use me? How
47:13
does God use me in
47:15
this world? With others
47:18
in my connections in my work, in
47:22
myself, how does God
47:24
use me? And
47:26
then give yourself the space and the
47:28
time and the devoted
47:31
effort to explore
47:33
the answer to that over this next
47:35
year, to really study
47:38
it, to get clear on it, not
47:41
in a way that's to be boastful or necessarily
47:43
talked about or shared with others, but
47:46
a way that you can
47:49
understand it so you can use
47:51
it in life, so you
47:53
can be it, so you
47:55
can do it. Have
47:59
you new year, everyone, Thank you for listening
