Demons and Dames

A History, Comedy and Feminism podcast
 2 people rated this podcast
Demons & Dames is a tongue-in-cheek feminist history podcast. Ashley Mauritzen and Sarah Worley-Hill dive deep into the stories of notorious women who shaped history - by design or simply by being in the right (or wrong) time or place. We examine how they were viewed by their contemporaries, and how and why their stories have been interpreted, shaped and passed down. We also laugh. A lot.

Hi Girls, I love, love, love Demon's and dames! I first came across your podcast when I was searching online for a podcast on the unstoppable Miss Madeliene Smith. I loved your take on her story and I've enjoyed all episodes since. Please may I request an episode on Christian Shaw? As I live in Paisley,Scotland, her remarkable, dark and ultimately successful life is one I've often read about. I'd love to hear your run down on her life and times. I know you will find it fascinating and enjoyable. Even after the witch trials,in which 19 ppl hung , in the very dubious accusations of 11 year old (or there abouts). She continued to have an extraordinary life afterwards possibly murdering her husband and became stinkingvrich when she invented the Paisley pattern!
These ladies do a terrific job at presenting women’s history! A mix of humor with facts - both hosts are great and make each episode enjoyable with the varying women they cover!
