Missy Beavers, a 45-year-old beloved mom,
0:45
wife and fitness instructor, was
0:47
murdered inside Creekside Church of Christ
0:49
in Midlothian, Texas. When
0:51
police checked the surveillance footage, they learned
0:54
that Missy had been viciously attacked by
0:56
someone wearing tactical gear and carrying a
0:58
hammer. Despite the killer
1:00
being captured on camera, no
1:02
suspects have ever been identified.
1:05
It's been just over eight years
1:07
since Missy was killed, and investigators are
1:09
still searching for the monster responsible. shouted

1:28
Hey everyone, welcome back to Detective Perspective. My name is
1:30
Derek Lavassar. I'm a licensed private investigator and former police
1:32
detective. And each week I'll be covering an unsolved case
1:34
and story format. I'll then give you
1:36
my perspective on the investigation and provide
1:39
contact information for the individuals or
1:41
organizations that are in the case. If
2:00
you have any tips, you can contact them
2:02
directly. And. Maybe you can help
2:04
solve the case. So if you're someone
2:06
who's interested in true crime, specifically unsolved
2:09
cases, and you would like to hear
2:11
my opinion on those investigations, please consider
2:13
subscribing where they are watching on you
2:16
tube or listening on Apple podcasts, spot
2:18
a Fi, or whatever platform you use.
2:21
Okay so as you know by now after
2:23
listening to the The Teaser. We. Covering
2:25
Missy Beavers. A pretty
2:28
well known case and you may be asking
2:30
yourself. Why? Recovering this a
2:32
lot of people have already covered it before.
2:35
And. It is a deviation from what we do
2:37
here on detective perspective and it will not be
2:39
the norm. But. I will tell you
2:41
I'm fascinated by this case. I have been for
2:43
years. I have family that
2:45
live in Texas specifically Midlothian. And.
2:48
I remember when this case occurred. And.
2:51
Many of you have asked me to cover
2:53
it. This isn't just out of nowhere, a
2:55
lot of you since I started to show
2:57
have asked me to cover Missy Beavers as
2:59
well Some other. Unsolved. Well
3:01
known cases and I've stayed away from it.
3:04
But. The difference here is when you're hearing
3:06
this on audio. It. Should be
3:08
April twenty second. And. If you're
3:10
watching it on you tube, it's April Twenty third.
3:13
And. Be a year anniversary of Missy
3:15
Beavers murder has just passed within the
3:17
last few days. So. I thought
3:19
that it would be fitting to cover it now. And.
3:22
To give my. Perception.
3:24
My perspective on this case. Although there
3:26
is a lot of information out there
3:28
already, there's a lot of experts who
3:30
have weighed in on this case as
3:32
well. So. I want to put
3:34
my two cents out there and give you
3:36
some of my observations. And. As
3:39
we're doing the perspective, we will do
3:41
it at the end again, but I'll
3:43
probably be giving more insight throughout the
3:45
episode because. There's. A lot to
3:47
unpack. And I don't want to save it
3:49
all for the answer. When we get a certain points
3:52
I may go off in covered that specific part of
3:54
the story at that time because there's a lot of
3:56
details to go over and I want to make sure
3:58
that I get them all. Right? So again,
4:00
just to reiterate, this will not be
4:02
the norm Here we're We're always gonna
4:05
lean toward cases. That. Do not
4:07
get the exposure they deserve. Our.
4:09
But this is an unsolved case, and there
4:11
are. Many people out there who
4:13
loved messy and are are still searching
4:15
for answers and it doesn't seem like
4:17
the police. Are. Close to solving
4:20
this case so it's not going to
4:22
hurt covering it here and and giving
4:24
my opinion on it and it only
4:26
take that one lead to potentially identify
4:28
that individual who currently have not known
4:31
to police and from that point you
4:33
could crack this investigation wide open so.
4:35
With. That out of the way. Let's. Dive into
4:38
this week's case. Terry.
4:40
Leann Missy Strickland was born
4:42
in Texas and August ninth,
4:44
nineteen seventy. From. A young
4:46
age, Missy was great at making friends. She
4:48
never met a stranger she didn't like. And.
4:50
Was always there offer support of hand to
4:53
anyone who needed it. Following.
4:55
Her graduation from Jack Sparrow High School
4:57
in Nineteen Eighty Eight. Missy. Earned
4:59
a bachelor's degree from Tarleton State
5:01
University. He then went on to work
5:04
in the retail industry. And
5:06
Ninety Ninety Eight. Missy married her husband
5:08
Brand and Beavers. Around. That
5:10
same time she decided to go back
5:12
to school to obtain are teaching certificate
5:14
in Special Education. Missy.
5:17
Dedicated her life to teaching for several years
5:19
until she gave birth to her first daughter,
5:21
Hannah and two thousand and one. Cm.
5:24
Brand and then decided that Missy would be a
5:26
stay at home mom and take care of Hannah.
5:28
Over. The next six years the Beavers
5:31
welcome to more daughter's alley and Sarah.
5:33
Missy. Love being a mother more than anything in
5:35
the world. She. Gave her daughter's
5:37
unwavering love and support and always
5:40
encourage them to follow their dreams.
5:42
Once all the girls were passed their
5:44
toddler stage, Missy found a new passion
5:46
in fitness. She. embraced her role
5:49
as a teacher once more and became
5:51
a can't gladiator instructor leading classes at
5:53
creekside church of christ and the fifty
5:55
four hundred block of east highway to
5:58
eighty seven in midlothian would near
6:00
Dallas. Missy's classes
6:02
were typically held outdoors in the church
6:04
parking lot, however, if there was bad
6:06
weather, she moved things indoors. She
6:09
would often post about her Camp Gladiator
6:11
classes on Facebook. It was the perfect
6:13
way to communicate with her campers about
6:15
the dates, times, and locations of classes.
6:19
Missy was scheduled to teach one of her classes at
6:21
5am on Monday, April 18, 2016. The
6:25
night before, she posted about the class
6:27
on Facebook adding, quote, if it's raining,
6:29
we're still training. No excuses,
6:31
you are glad eaters. Just
6:34
before 9.30pm, Missy posted on Facebook again and she
6:37
mentioned she was going to bed because she had
6:39
to be up at 3am. Before
6:42
she fell asleep, Missy spoke to her husband
6:44
Brandon, who was away in Mississippi for a
6:46
long planned fishing trip. Before
6:49
ending the call, they exchanged I love yous.
6:52
They never spoke again. On
6:54
May 18, Missy woke up at 3.30am as planned. Forty-six
6:58
minutes later, she arrived at Creedside Church
7:01
of Christ. It had
7:03
been raining that morning, so Missy decided to
7:05
hold classes indoors. She parked
7:07
under the awning at the south entrance
7:09
and began carrying her materials inside. At
7:13
5am, Missy's students arrived for class. According
7:16
to police records, they entered the church and made
7:18
their way to the southwest corner. When
7:21
they got there, they discovered 45-year-old
7:23
Missy lying unresponsive in the hallway.
7:26
Blood and broken glass were scattered around her. The
7:29
students immediately called 911. One
7:32
of the students called Brandon to tell him what was going
7:34
on. He quickly rented a car
7:36
and began his drive home, which would take
7:38
around 9 hours. By
7:41
5.10am, first responders arrived and rushed to
7:43
the hallway where Missy was lying on
7:45
the ground still clinging to life. They
7:48
spotted a pool of blood and broken glass scattered
7:50
near Missy. They also noted
7:52
various tools, including a large hammer,
7:55
which belonged to the church. While
7:57
paramedics attended to Missy, police officers
7:59
searched the entire building. They
8:02
didn't find anyone else inside, but they did
8:04
find broken glass scattered throughout the church. According
8:07
to police records, officers also discovered
8:10
signs of forced entry suggesting a
8:12
potential burglary. On the
8:14
northeast corner of the church, they found double
8:16
doors that had been damaged, although there was
8:18
no evidence of anyone passing through them, they
8:20
were just simply broken. Additionally,
8:23
there was a metal door on the north
8:25
side of the building with a broken window.
8:27
Now, it seemed that some would have entered
8:29
through this door, possibly reaching inside through the
8:31
broken window and using the knob or handle
8:33
to actually open the door. Now,
8:36
Missy's gray Ford F-150 remained parked under
8:38
the south awning with the passenger side
8:40
door and the truck bed lid still
8:42
open. The keys were also on
8:45
the tailgate, and there was workout equipment in the
8:47
back of the truck near the church entrance. Now,
8:50
what's interesting is that Missy's wallet was on
8:52
the front passenger seat, her iPhone was
8:54
on the dashboard, and her handbag was on the
8:57
floor in the center of the front seat. In
8:59
addition to all of that, her
9:01
iPad and her gun were also left
9:04
behind. Now, back in
9:06
the southwest corner of the building, first responders
9:08
continued to work on Missy, but
9:10
sadly she couldn't be saved and she
9:12
was pronounced dead at the scene. Okay,
9:15
so let's break down what we have so
9:17
far, and I will say I apologize if
9:19
at the end I repeat some of this.
9:21
If I do, it's because I believe it's
9:23
significant. But just off the top
9:25
of my head here, we have
9:27
a situation that to me screams
9:30
burglary. This looks like an individual
9:32
entered this building and
9:34
was initially looking
9:37
for something or just, I don't know,
9:39
sometimes people get a gratification from going into
9:41
places that they're not supposed to be, but
9:44
it does appear that this was slightly premeditated.
9:46
And we'll get into the video, everyone knows
9:49
about the video who knows this case. I
9:51
won't go there now, but just on the
9:53
surface, as an investigator going into the scene,
9:56
We have multiple attempts of forced entry,
9:58
then we have a successful. Them
10:00
to forced entry and multiple areas
10:02
throughout the building where it looks
10:04
like this individual was breaking into
10:06
things potentially looking for stuff. Now.
10:09
Some of you may push back and say well
10:11
derek if it was a a burglary. And.
10:14
In their plan was to take something look
10:16
at all the items they left behind. The.
10:18
Just and Mrs car alone I mentioned
10:20
a wallet, a cell an I pad
10:22
a gun. All. Left there at the
10:25
scene. I. Think that's easily
10:27
explainable. Be. Original intention may
10:29
have been a burglary. But.
10:31
When this person encountered Missy. Probably.
10:34
Unexpectedly. Those plans
10:37
changed because of what occurred. So yes, you
10:39
go there with one in ten. Something.
10:42
Goes down. That's. Horrific.
10:44
And they realize they have to get
10:46
out of there immediately. and maybe they
10:48
purposely choose not to take anything that
10:50
could potentially tie them to the case.
10:53
So. I know there are people who
10:55
believe that this was premeditated, that this could
10:57
have been a robbery, but then they go
10:59
back and forth because it doesn't appear. That.
11:01
Anything was taken from the property or
11:03
from messy. I. Wouldn't count that
11:05
as a deal breaker for ruin our burglary. He.
11:08
Could be have been one thing initially and
11:10
and changed into something else. Now.
11:12
Before we continue on, let's take a force
11:14
break. Growing
11:20
up, cereals one of the best parts of being
11:22
a kid, but as I got older I had
11:25
to watch out for sugar and empty carbs. And
11:27
that's where Magic Spoon comes in. Magic.
11:29
Spoon has amazing flavors your love but
11:31
is high in protein and contains less
11:33
sugar. I've. Also been drinking more protein
11:35
shakes lately. A Magic Spoon give me a
11:37
way to get my protein in before and
11:39
after work out while still eating something that
11:42
I enjoy. So now if you're not sure
11:44
what flavor you would like, Magic Spoon has
11:46
a variety pack and it contains all for
11:48
flavors so that's coco. Fruity. Frosted
11:50
and peanut butter. This. Package Zero
11:53
grams of sugar. Thirteen. To
11:55
fourteen grams of protein and forty five grams
11:57
of net carbs and only contains one hundred
11:59
and four. Calories per serving. It's high
12:01
in protein. Zero grams of sugar. Quito!
12:03
Friendly. Gluten free, grain free and soy
12:05
free. Now as far as my favorite
12:07
flavor, it's definitely peanut butter. Anything peanut
12:09
butter flavored in my mind is a
12:12
win. But if you're someone who likes
12:14
frosted cereal, you're probably going to really
12:16
liked the frosted flavor that that's also
12:18
delicious. I do eat that as well
12:20
armed, but either way, you I think
12:22
you're going to love all of them.
12:24
It taste good, It's crunchy, it tastes
12:26
just like there's additional zero you're used
12:28
to. But yeah, it's. It's a lot healthier
12:31
And here's a little side hack. After I'm done
12:33
eating the serial, I take the flavored milk and
12:35
instead of wasting it, I. Throw it in
12:37
my ice cream maker. That's just me little side
12:39
thing. You. Can try to feel like let
12:41
me know to think so clearly. Magicspoon is
12:43

12:45
you guys will like it as well. So

13:10
Protein Zero and Magic spoon.com/detective and
13:12
use Code Detective to save five
13:14
dollars one of think Max Boon
13:16
for sponsoring this week's episode. Let's
13:18
get back to the case. Okay
13:26
so we're back And before the break we talked about
13:28
whether or not this could have been a burglary and
13:30
I think at this point based on what we now.
13:33
Have. A burglary is still very much
13:35
and play even though nothing was taken
13:37
So. Soon. After all this
13:39
went down, detectives arrived to begin
13:41
their investigation into Midlothian first homicide
13:43
and seven years. One.
13:46
Of their first tasked with a check for
13:48
surveillance footage inside and outside of the church.
13:50
Now. There was no working cameras outside
13:53
of the church due to known malfunctions.
13:55
However, the cameras inside the church we're
13:57
still operational. So. the detectors reviewed
14:00
footage and saw that the killer had
14:02
been captured on camera. Now
14:04
according to police records, here's what they
14:06
observed. At some point
14:08
prior to 3.50am, the suspect broke
14:11
into the church possibly through a metal door
14:13
with a busted window on the north side.
14:16
It's unknown exactly what time they broke in because
14:18
there was no camera in that area or an
14:20
alarm system in place. At
14:23
3.50am, the suspect appeared on camera
14:25
for the first time, and
14:27
from 3.50-4.20am, they
14:29
moved from room to room carrying a hammer, forcing
14:32
open doors, smashing windows, and
14:34
rummaging through offices and the
14:36
kitchen. And it should be
14:38
noted that the police couldn't determine from the video
14:40
if the suspect had any weapons other
14:43
than the hammer. Detectives also noted
14:45
that the suspect was wearing tactical gear.
14:47
Now this included a military
14:49
style helmet that can sometimes be bullet
14:51
proof, cargo pants that
14:53
are often seen with military members
14:56
or security personnel, gloves, and
14:58
a thick vest that was clearly marked
15:00
police in white letters. Now
15:03
I want to weigh in on the gear
15:05
quickly because I think it's significant
15:07
but it can also mean a lot of
15:10
things. I'm not trying to
15:12
offend anyone here, but all
15:14
the gear that you can see in this
15:16
footage is stuff that can
15:18
be purchased online very easily and there's
15:22
very different qualities of equipment that
15:24
can be purchased. What do I
15:26
mean by that? I right now at
15:29
home have a helmet, a bullet
15:31
proof helmet that's a full face bullet proof
15:33
helmet that's over $2,000 if you
15:36
would have purchased it on your own. I
15:38
also have all the tactical gear, the
15:40
vest, the police patch, all from work.
15:43
Actually, you can see one of them
15:46
right behind me if you're watching on YouTube,
15:48
but you can also go online and purchase
15:50
this stuff relatively cheap. The cargo pants, the
15:53
vest, the patch, It may
15:55
look like it's a military style vest and
15:57
that it's bullet proof, but in reality it's.
16:00
This padded. Same. Thing for
16:02
the how if you're going to go by
16:04
the helmet you could buy one that's couple
16:06
thousand dollars like I said or you can
16:08
buy one for a couple hundred bucks that
16:11
you can buy often. Airsoft website that looks
16:13
like. A. Military style helmet, but
16:15
in reality it has no utility.
16:17
It's more. For. Cosmetic
16:19
purposes. Why? Do I bring all
16:22
this up? Well. You could have
16:24
completely two different lanes. Here You
16:26
could have a situation where this
16:28
person has a military or law
16:30
enforcement or security background. Or.
16:32
This person frankly the wanna be
16:34
there, a wannabe cop or a
16:36
wannabe soldier and they or their cosplay
16:39
type thing and they just purchased
16:41
the stuff online because they wanted
16:43
to. Go. On in front of
16:45
the mirror and look cool we me. I'm
16:47
not trying to discredit the situation, but that's
16:49
really what we could be looking out here.
16:51
And I will say that. If
16:53
someone had use this equipment in the
16:55
field it it would have fit a
16:57
lot better. My gear was designed and
17:00
sized for me. my helmet, my vast.
17:03
Ah, My pants were, you know, they were
17:05
just bought off the shelf by everything else.
17:07
Was pretty form fitting because you don't want
17:09
to have. Anything to lose that
17:11
can be caught on something as you're entering
17:13
a building or as are going into a
17:15
situation where are people could grab a hold
17:18
of you and pull you down by your
17:20
clothes. So everything was pretty tight fitting it
17:22
and it looked like it was a belonged
17:24
to me. This gear from the
17:26
footage which you'll see looks like the person
17:29
is swimming in it. The boots, the vast.
17:31
Everything. Just looks too big for this person.
17:34
So. It tells me that they were either
17:36
borrowing someone elses stuff. Or. They
17:38
purchased this on line and they just didn't
17:40
get the right sizes and it's not custom
17:42
made so again it's just like a generic
17:44
brand that you can purchase and that's why
17:47
it looks so sloppy on them. So for
17:49
me if you if you if you make
17:51
me choose I'm leaning towards that option that
17:53
this stuff was purchased online. And. Wasn't
17:55
actually being worn by someone who who
17:57
was in that career field. although they
17:59
could. The. Low. Level security
18:02
somewhere. Some. Of you have
18:04
also suggested that maybe it was a woman.
18:06
Wearing. This gear and that's why didn't
18:08
fit her properly. That's. Also an
18:10
option but I will get into that more. I
18:13
personally think it's a male. But. But
18:15
we will dive into that as we go
18:17
throughout this episode. But I just wanted to
18:19
touch on the the tactical gear because I
18:21
think one of the reason this case is
18:23
is so popular is because of this footage
18:25
and because everyone gets the see this killer
18:27
and how they're dressed and you just imagine.
18:30
What? It would have been like from Missy
18:32
to be confronted by this person how scary
18:34
that would have been. And I think that's
18:36
why a lot of people gravitate towards this
18:38
case. Okay, so now
18:40
that I've talked about that, let's go back a
18:43
little bit in time Here to before this incident
18:45
happened. At for sixteen am, Missy
18:47
drove into the church parking lot and part
18:49
close to the entry door to unload her
18:51
equipment. Four. Minutes later she
18:54
entered the church completely unaware that
18:56
the suspect was inside. Missy.
18:58
Walk down the hall of the church toward
19:01
the southwest corner. As he entered
19:03
that area where she was later found. She.
19:05
Went out of range from the cameras
19:07
motion sensor causing you to turn off
19:10
and unfortunately the subsequent assault was not
19:12
recorded. After. Attacking Missy off
19:14
camera, the suspect walked on one
19:16
of the hallways, presumably exiting the
19:18
same way they entered. And
19:20
at five Am at least two students
19:22
entered the church and discovered messy. Now.
19:25
As far as this surveillance footage is concerned, we
19:27
talked about of a couple minutes ago morgan to
19:30
talk about it more throughout this episode. But.
19:32
I feel like most of us feel the
19:34
same. It's just. It's. Just eerie
19:36
to see this individual. We.
19:38
Know what they're about to do. And.
19:41
To just see them kind of walking through
19:43
the hallways without a care in the world
19:45
breaking things along the way. Not.
19:47
Really? In a hurry? Not really. With.
19:50
Any sense of urgency? I
19:52
guess it almost seems like they might be under
19:54
the influence because they have to know. That.
19:56
There are cameras inside and yet they don't seem
19:59
to care. And I do think
20:01
that the tactical gear. Oh. Was
20:03
deliberately worn to avoid identification.
20:06
I think that's what the
20:08
real. Intention was was to
20:10
be in something from head to toe. So.
20:13
That it would make it harder for law
20:15
enforcement to identify them. Now.
20:17
You could take a couple things from
20:20
that. The fact that this individual knew
20:22
that there were cameras inside and decided
20:24
to dress like this could suggest that
20:26
they've previously been there before. In.
20:28
What capacity? You're. Guess
20:31
is as good as mine. Are also
20:33
point out that there is a sign
20:35
outside of the church closer to the
20:37
roadway. That. Indicates there are
20:39
cameras on the premise, so even if
20:41
you hadn't been there before, this person
20:43
was a stranger. They. Would
20:45
have some idea that there were cameras
20:48
on site. So yes, it is suggested
20:50
that the person new the layout inside
20:52
and that there were cameras present. But.
20:54
I could also see a world where because
20:56
of the signage outside, this person just had
20:59
some intelligence going into it and knew that
21:01
they had to cover their face. Now.
21:04
According to police records, after looking over
21:06
the surveillance footage, detectives asked her staff
21:08
to check to see if anything was
21:11
missing and they didn't find anything. Detectives.
21:14
Also, our sister had met any break in at
21:16
the church in the past year and there hadn't
21:18
been. Now. Later that day the
21:20
Midlothian Police how their first of many press
21:22
conferences to of the the public eye mrs
21:25
Murder and what they had learned so far.
21:27
They. Also released the seven second clip
21:29
of the suspect walking around and tactical
21:32
gear and ask anyone who knew who
21:34
the suspect my be to come forward.
21:36
And. It's also important to note that initially at
21:38
this point the police did believed that the
21:40
suspect was a male. The
21:43
police went on to say that it didn't
21:45
know why Missy was killed. It was possible
21:47
she interrupted a burglary. however for am is
21:49
an odd time to Robert Church so they
21:51
were looking into whether Mrs murder was pre
21:54
planned. But. The also considered the
21:56
chance that it was cool and elaborate.
21:58
Random situation. So. basic Luckily, at
22:00
this point, they were considering all possibilities.
22:04
Now while the police continued their investigation, a
22:06
medical examiner was conducting an autopsy,
22:09
and according to NBC, the autopsy determined
22:11
that Missy, quote, had multiple puncture wounds
22:14
found on her head and chest. These
22:17
puncture wounds were, quote, consistent with the tools
22:19
the suspect was carrying throughout the building. Her
22:22
cause of death was a head wound. Now
22:24
as far as this murder weapon is concerned, the
22:27
hammer which we all see on the footage, I
22:30
think that this hammer is
22:32
highly suggestive that this murder was
22:34
not premeditated. Walk with me here
22:36
on this one. If this individual
22:38
went there with the intent of
22:41
killing Missy, there would have
22:43
been a few things I think that we would have seen
22:45
on the footage. First off, you
22:48
would have seen this individual possibly hiding
22:50
at one of the entry points. You
22:52
would have seen them looking out the
22:54
windows into the parking lot to see
22:56
if Missy was arriving or had already
22:58
arrived. And you would
23:01
think that if they went there with the
23:03
intent on killing Missy, they would
23:05
have brought something to kill her. And
23:07
it doesn't appear that they did. As
23:10
I mentioned at the top of the show, the
23:12
hammer that the suspect was carrying was a
23:15
hammer that belonged to the church. And
23:18
so this person picked up that hammer after
23:20
they arrived. And it seems like
23:22
to me that it wasn't
23:24
necessarily picked up as a weapon,
23:27
but more so as a tool to gain entry
23:29
to the locked doors and the windows. And
23:32
so as they were walking around the building,
23:34
they were using the hammer to break things
23:36
and pry things open. What
23:38
I think more than likely happened is
23:40
that during this burglary, this
23:43
individual encountered Missy. They maybe heard her
23:45
coming in or maybe they just walked
23:47
into each other. And
23:49
in that moment, to assault
23:51
Missy, the suspect used what they
23:53
had in their hands, which happened to be the
23:55
hammer. So yes, it's a
23:57
brutal murder and it's horrific to
23:59
think about. how this went down, but
24:02
I do think that the the hammer is
24:04
a critical piece of evidence. We see how
24:06
the offender is carrying it throughout the surveillance
24:08
footage and the fact that that's what they
24:10
used to kill her to me
24:12
suggests that they didn't go there
24:14
with the intent on killing anyone,
24:17
the hammer was just a means to an
24:19
end. They used the hammer because that's what they
24:21
happen to have in their hand at that time.
24:24
I also think this rules
24:26
out the potential that this was someone
24:28
who was a professional, that someone who knew
24:31
what they were doing, not to be
24:33
inconsiderate of what we're talking about here,
24:35
but if you're going to kill someone
24:37
there are easier more efficient ways
24:39
of doing so. A gun, a
24:41
knife, also again
24:43
if it's premeditated are
24:46
you going to choose the interior of a
24:48
building that you know
24:50
has surveillance cameras? I
24:52
don't think so. That wouldn't be the I
24:54
don't think that would be the first choice. So
24:57
there's a lot of little things here that's
24:59
highly suggestive that again this
25:01
started off as one thing, a burglary,
25:03
and turned into something else, a murder.
25:06

26:56
thank Factor Meals for sponsoring this week's
26:58
episode? Let's get back into the case. Okay
27:07
so we're back and we just discussed the
27:09
hammer and the surveillance footage and what it
27:11
all could mean. You know
27:13
what does it tell us about this offender?
27:15
What type of profile can we derive from
27:18
these actions that we can see with our
27:20
own eyes? And I think it shows someone
27:22
who's a novice and experienced and and
27:25
more than likely didn't go in there with a
27:27
plan on killing anyone. It evolved
27:29
into that situation. Now don't
27:32
get me wrong this still means we're dealing
27:34
with a very dangerous individual. Anyone who
27:36
can murder someone with a hammer is someone
27:39
we all have to be aware of
27:41
because that's not a person who's in
27:43
the right state of mind. The ability to
27:45
go from a burglary to this violent
27:48
murder in a matter of seconds tells you
27:50
the type of mentality that we're dealing with
27:52
here. So again in no way shape or
27:54
form am I diminishing what
27:56
happened here? We're dealing with
27:58
a very dangerous person. Now,
28:01
the following day, the police released an additional 19
28:04
seconds of footage showing the suspect
28:06
inside the church, moving about, opening
28:08
doors, and peering inside of them.
28:11
The police also retracted their earlier statement
28:13
regarding the suspect's gender, now stating that
28:15
they could either be a male or
28:17
a female. The police urged
28:19
the public to focus on the suspect's walk
28:21
and their posture to see if they could
28:23
be identified. And again,
28:26
we talked about the posture and the walk slightly. Could
28:29
it be a gate that this person has due
28:31
to an injury? Or could it be
28:33
because the clothes are too big on them? It
28:35
could be either. Depending on when I watch the
28:37
video, I feel differently about it and I'm sure
28:39
many of you out there have
28:42
felt the same. Now, on
28:44
April 22, four days after Missy was
28:46
murdered, the police held another press conference
28:48
where they released an additional two minutes
28:50
of footage in the hopes of generating
28:52
new leads. They asked the
28:54
public to pay attention to the suspect's mannerisms
28:57
and their walking style. And
28:59
I think it's important to note that at
29:01
this stage of the investigation into Missy's murder,
29:03
the Texas Rangers, the ATF, and the FBI
29:05
were all assisting in this case. So it
29:08
really was all hands on deck and they
29:10
had all the resources and personnel available to
29:12
try to solve this case. Over
29:15
the next few weeks, the police obtained a
29:17
search warrant from Missy's LinkedIn account and also
29:19
several people's phone records. The
29:21
police later released these warrants, which told us
29:23
quite a bit of new information about Missy's
29:26
life before her murder. Now
29:28
the police found out that Missy and Brandon
29:30
were having problems in their marriage, partly because
29:32
Missy had been involved with other people. And
29:35
Brandon told investigators that he knew about at
29:37
least one of Missy's affairs. After
29:40
looking at Missy's LinkedIn account, investigators found
29:42
out that she was in a romantic
29:44
relationship with a man that Brandon hadn't
29:46
mentioned, probably because he didn't know about
29:49
it. Investigators talked
29:51
to this man and he confirmed the relationship. The
29:53
warrant also stated that they searched his phone,
29:56
but they don't detail what, if anything was
29:58
found. The warrants
30:00
also revealed that less than three days before
30:02
her murder, Missy showed a friend a private
30:04
message she got on LinkedIn. Now,
30:07
while the contents of the message have not been
30:09
released, we know that it was from an unknown
30:11
male and it was, quote, creepy and strange. Now,
30:14
I will say I'm a little perplexed as
30:17
to why this information was released. I
30:20
don't know how this would assist or jog
30:22
the memories of the public to help law
30:25
enforcement solve this case. If
30:27
anything, there could be individuals out there
30:29
who judge Missy because of this information,
30:31
which is not helpful to incentivizing
30:34
people to come forward or to
30:36
try to help solve this case.
30:39
But I feel like this is a situation, and we're going to
30:41
get into this more where law enforcement
30:43
didn't have a ton. So
30:45
when they, when they found something
30:47
that was intriguing and could potentially
30:49
be a motive for someone,
30:52
they wanted to let the public know that,
30:55
hey, we are working this case and we
30:57
are finding new things, even though
30:59
in my opinion, I don't know
31:01
how searching these possible
31:03
leads, these possible motives would
31:06
be useful to for public consumption.
31:09
I just don't see it. But again,
31:11
maybe if I was talking to law enforcement, I
31:13
would feel differently. But if I had
31:15
been working this case, I don't
31:17
feel like I would have released this information. Could
31:20
it be considered guilt knowledge if used later? Yeah,
31:22
it could have been. It's not
31:24
now. So for me, I wouldn't
31:27
have released it. It is an interesting tidbit
31:29
and it does give a more fuller
31:32
perspective of what was going on in Missy's life
31:34
at the time of her murder. But
31:36
I don't necessarily know if it's connected.
31:38
Yes, it needs to be explored, but
31:41
behind closed doors within the
31:43
investigators realm of people who
31:45
are working this case, not
31:47
necessarily for the public to
31:49
consume. Now, the
31:51
investigation into Missy's murder continued with the
31:53
Midlothian police doing everything they could think
31:55
of to solve this case. They
31:58
even enlisted the help of the NYPD. to
32:00
use their advanced tracking devices which
32:02
analyzed signals from cell towers. You
32:05
see the police wanted to know if the
32:07
killer was coming back to the crime scene
32:09
to admire their work or to see what
32:11
law enforcement was working on. And
32:13
if they did, the NYPD could run surveillance
32:16
and use a tracking device called Stingray. A
32:19
former police officer and criminal defense attorney
32:21
told CBS 11 about the Stingray technology.
32:24
He said quote, a phone will automatically connect
32:26
to the Stingray without any control from the
32:28
user. It reminds data off the
32:31
phone very quickly. Now it's
32:33
unclear if the NYPD was able
32:35
to uncover anything significant. If they
32:37
had, nothing has been released and
32:39
I completely understand why it wouldn't
32:41
be released. Now, as far as
32:43
the Stingray, I've never used a piece
32:45
of technology like this. It sounds pretty fascinating. I
32:48
think I have an idea of
32:50
how it would potentially work. I
32:52
think it would almost work. I guess if we were
32:54
to describe it in a way that most of us
32:56
would understand, kind of like a
32:58
Wi-Fi router without a password. So
33:01
it would be placed in the area
33:03
of the crime scene and any cellular
33:06
devices that came within the vicinity of
33:08
that Stingray would automatically connect
33:10
without any permissions or passwords. And
33:13
it would just constantly download the data
33:16
from the phones that are connecting to the
33:18
Stingray. And maybe there it's
33:20
I'm assuming that it spits out information
33:22
into some type of Excel sheet or
33:24
something similar where they'll be able
33:26
to see what devices are connecting and
33:29
how often they're connecting. And maybe
33:31
based on what he's describing here, maybe
33:34
it's able to download personal data and maybe
33:36
search history. I don't know how deep it
33:38
goes, but it definitely sounds
33:40
like an interesting piece of technology.
33:43
I've heard similar stories of different technology, but
33:45
not at the local level. But
33:48
again, NYPD is a huge department. I
33:50
can tell you we didn't have this
33:52
technology at my police department.
33:55
And if you did, I would think more
33:57
than likely we would need some type of search warrant.
34:00
depending on how intrusive
34:02
this equipment was. If
34:04
it's able to access personal
34:06
data, I don't know, search history,
34:08
photos, whatever, without
34:10
the user's awareness of it,
34:13
I would think there could be some Fourth
34:16
Amendment concerns there. So I don't know if
34:18
it goes that deep or just pulling phone
34:20
numbers and carrier data. If it's just pulling
34:22
that, I think it's fine, because
34:24
in order to get more detailed
34:27
information about those specific numbers, you
34:29
would have to go to those carriers
34:31
and have warrants signed and then issued
34:34
before that data was given over
34:36
to law enforcement. So more than
34:38
likely, that's what they were doing,
34:40
especially if they've released this publicly.
34:42
And I guess you could see how
34:44
many times these phone numbers were connecting on
34:47
a regular basis. If they had a
34:49
number pop up that was consistently being
34:53
grabbed by the stingray at random
34:55
times, maybe that's a number
34:57
and carrier that they would look into to
34:59
see who that phone belonged to. But really
35:01
interesting piece of technology, and it does make
35:03
me think even as a civilian now, what
35:06
is available to our government at the higher levels? What do
35:08
they have? What access do they have? And I know a
35:11
lot of you are probably screaming right now because
35:14
based on what we do know, they do have
35:16
the ability to get whatever they want. And
35:19
the technology is out there. It's not accessible
35:21
to people like you and I, but it
35:23
is available. And it is somewhat scary to
35:25
think of what can be obtained without our
35:27
knowledge. Now on May 20,
35:30
just over a month after Missy was
35:32
murdered, the police held another press conference
35:34
to update the public on the investigation.
35:36
They talked about potential
35:38
suspects in the case stating quote, at
35:40
this point, none of the family friends or
35:43
co workers of Missy beavers are considered suspects.
35:45
Until Missy's killer is caught, I will
35:47
stop short of saying that any person
35:49
is absolutely excluded. But to be clear,
35:52
none of Missy's family are at the focus
35:54
of this investigation. Now
35:57
this was a very important statement by law
35:59
enforcement. because at this point
36:01
many people online were blaming Brandon for
36:03
Missy's murder, even though he wasn't even
36:06
in the same state when she was
36:08
killed. But again, them coming
36:10
out and saying this publicly, I think they were
36:12
trying to do two
36:14
things. Put people at ease that, hey,
36:16
listen, lay off the family members friends,
36:18
but also giving themselves an out on
36:21
case something popped up that was suggestive that
36:23
one of them were involved. So they were, they
36:25
were still kind of covered both ways. Now
36:28
the police also provided updated information
36:30
about the suspect. They stated
36:32
that the suspect's height ranged from approximately
36:34
five, two to five, seven, and they
36:36
appeared to be light skinned, although this
36:38
couldn't be confirmed. Additionally, the
36:41
suspect made significant efforts to conceal their
36:43
identity. So the police still weren't sure
36:45
about their gender. Now
36:48
regarding the suspect's physical characteristics, the
36:50
police noted quote, the suspect's
36:52
feet appear to be turned outward away
36:55
from the body, more predominantly on the
36:57
right foot. Investigators are interested
36:59
in persons who fall within or near this
37:01
height range and have a similar walk or
37:03
gate or may have had a similar walk
37:05
or gate during the time of this offense.
37:08
It is possible the gate was caused by
37:10
a temporary condition, injury or other factor and
37:12
the suspect may no longer exhibit this walk
37:15
or gate. The
37:17
police further mentioned that they hadn't ruled
37:19
out the possibility that more than one
37:21
person was involved despite only one person
37:23
being seen on camera. They also
37:26
said they weren't sure where the suspect
37:28
purchased the tactical gear because it was
37:30
readily available and not controlled. In
37:33
June, things started slowing down in Missy's case.
37:35
There weren't as many tips coming in and the
37:37
media coverage wasn't as frequent. Now
37:39
in January of 2017, the police
37:42
shared new surveillance footage of a
37:45
silver Nissan Altima near SWFA outdoors
37:48
located about a half a mile from the church and
37:50
the car was seen just a few hours prior
37:52
to Missy's murder. Now in the
37:54
surveillance footage, the car is seen slowly driving
37:57
around the parking lot and at one moment
37:59
the driver switched off their lights and then
38:01
turn them back on. Now the
38:03
police said they didn't think the driver was connected
38:05
to Missy's murder, however they wanted to speak to
38:07
them. And as far as I can
38:10
tell the police haven't located the driver of this vehicle
38:12
yet. One other quick note
38:14
when we're talking about proximity, yes
38:16
SWFA Outdoors is about a half a mile
38:18
away from the church but I can tell
38:21
you from watching other news coverage on this
38:23
before recording, from that building
38:25
the SWFA Outdoors building, you can
38:27
see the church clear as day.
38:30
So I know that law enforcement is
38:32
saying this individual is not involved and
38:34
that may be the case but
38:36
it is very interesting considering the
38:38
timing in which this vehicle was
38:41
seen, the behavior that was displayed
38:43
and the close proximity to
38:46
the church. So this car would be critical
38:48
to identify and to speak with the driver
38:50
and I will tell you that there was
38:52
a still released of this car as well.
38:55
We can probably put this up here where on
38:58
the back bumper of this vehicle when they released the
39:00
still there appears to be
39:02
some type of sticker below the
39:04
license plate. I can't
39:06
put together what it might be but maybe
39:08
one of you out there can. So again
39:11
if you are able to identify this vehicle
39:13
or this sticker that's on the vehicle please
39:15
make sure you contact law enforcement. I'll have
39:17
all that information at the end of the
39:19
episode. Now
39:22
in April, one year had passed since
39:24
Missy was murdered and the police told
39:26
NBC DFW quote in this case justice
39:28
for Missy has been delayed too long. The
39:31
police also said they were still receiving tips
39:33
but they were waiting on that quote vital
39:35
critical tip that would break this case wide
39:38
open. Now fast forward to
39:40
2018 the police held another press conference
39:42
marking the two-year anniversary of the case.
39:45
They mentioned that they were still collaborating
39:47
with outside help and were following up
39:49
on leads whenever new technology was available.
39:52
Now the investigation continued with few
39:54
major updates over the years but
39:56
in April of 2021 the police made a public
39:59
Announcement. The mark The fifth year since
40:01
Macys murder. They. Went on to say
40:03
that are case still isn't considered cold as
40:05
they receive new tips and leads almost every
40:07
day. And they also had ruled
40:10
out or confirmed any possible motives. The.
40:12
Police mention the be the case with
40:15
several groups of homicide investigators for their
40:17
input. But. These discussions didn't mean
40:19
to significant new information. They.
40:21
Also brought on a retired Federal agents
40:24
to work with the team investigating Missy's
40:26
murder. The police further reveal
40:28
be obtained a new height analysis for
40:30
the suspect which estimated the vertical distance
40:32
from the floor to the top of
40:34
the suspects helmet to be approximately five
40:36
foot eight inches tall. Now.
40:39
This is a decent shift from our
40:41
original description, which had them between Five
40:43
Two and Five Seven. Now we're seeing
40:45
it on the Higher and Five Eight.
40:47
So although many years later, this information
40:49
is critically important because we're asking the
40:52
public for help. And. To look
40:54
at these videos and think about people in
40:56
their own lives. And. And maybe
40:58
a situation where. The. Individual they
41:00
were thinking of was closer to five forty,
41:03
maybe six feet tall. And. They said
41:05
not five to it's it's too much of
41:07
a difference. Couldn't be that person. Now by
41:09
saying miss. It. May bring some new
41:11
potential suspects into the fold. Saw a six
41:13
inch difference may not seem like a lot.
41:16
But. It could open up a whole new group
41:18
of suspects. Now. In addition
41:20
to this new hide information, Law Enforcement
41:22
again highlighted that the suspect had a
41:25
distinctive walk with their feet turning our
41:27
specifically the right foot. The. Police
41:29
said they were interested in people around this
41:31
new height range who have a similar walk
41:33
or may have had one around the time
41:35
of Missy's murder. Now. Since this
41:37
announcement, there have been few updates in this
41:39
case. And as of April eighteenth, twenty Twenty
41:42
Four, which was just a few days ago,
41:44
he has been eight years since Missy was
41:46
murdered. The. Police told Nbc that
41:48
they have a detective working full time
41:50
on this case and that they are
41:52
actively pursuing new leads. But. Unfortunately that
41:55
was the only up the be provided.
41:57
Now. Mrs. Case remains unsolved as of this.
42:00
According. And. Our family is
42:02

44:06
Okay, so now for my detector perspective
44:09
on this case, which I've kind of
44:11
given. Throughout. This episode which
44:13
is why it was a little longer, but
44:15
I lights kind of breaking it down. By.
44:17
Sections so that we could go over the critical
44:20
pieces of information and make sure that I didn't
44:22
I didn't miss any at the end. But.
44:24
Just to recap, I want to talk about
44:26
a couple pieces that we touched upon in
44:28
the show and in the first thing been
44:30
my hammer. When. We think about motive
44:32
and we think about why. Missy.
44:35
Was killed. I don't think
44:37
we have a situation here where there was something
44:39
going on. Prior. To this incident
44:41
where. It. Was determined that Miss
44:43
He. Needed to be
44:46
removed from this earth. And this was a
44:48
premeditated murder. It. Looks to me
44:50
based on the behavior of the offender.
44:53
That. This individual went there. With.
44:55
The intention on either just breaking
44:57
into things walking around or committing
44:59
a burglary and actually taking something
45:01
from the church. But. Based
45:03
on how they were conducting themselves, I truly
45:06
don't even know. If. They were
45:08
looking for anything specific. I.
45:10
Have had situations especially with young adolescents where
45:12
they break into somewhere just for the sake
45:14
of doing so just because it's wrong and
45:16
the just curious as to what's inside and
45:18
that's really yet. They're not looking to take
45:21
anything, they just one amp break in and
45:23
I guess it's like the cool thing to
45:25
do. I. Don't know if this
45:27
person had something against the church or. If.
45:30
There was something mentally going on. Again, I wouldn't be
45:32
surprised based on how they were kind of. Walking.
45:34
Around the building. But is.
45:36
It appears to me that they went there
45:39
with an intention other than killing someone. and
45:41
that's probably why they went there so early
45:43
in the morning. I also
45:45
think that the behavior is not suggestive
45:47
of someone who's looking to kill someone
45:50
or has a plan going into it.
45:52
Because. As I said in the show I think
45:54
they would have been hiding. I think the would have
45:56
been looking out the windows and up the doors to
45:59
see if someone arrived. The. Or
46:01
be Hebrew to me. Suggest.
46:03
That they had no intention or no idea.
46:05
That. Anyone was going to show up that early
46:08
in the morning. And as far
46:10
as the hammers concerned, As. I said
46:12
earlier they were using it as a tool. To.
46:14
Break into different areas of the church.
46:17
And. What I feel happened is. That.
46:19
Missy and the offender basically walked into
46:22
each other unexpectedly by both parties, and
46:24
in that moment, I don't know if
46:26
Missy screams, or maybe see, who knows,
46:28
maybe she confronts the person, but either
46:31
way, this individual who's clearly. Not.
46:33
In the right mindset, uses the hammer to
46:35
kill her because that's what was in their
46:37
hand at the time when the incident occurred.
46:39
I don't think it's anything more than that.
46:42
As far as the person that were looking
46:44
for, tier. I think this
46:46
individual is a male just based on the
46:49
stature based on how walking I could see
46:51
being a female, but it just doesn't. Make
46:54
sense to mean in a crime like this. A
46:56
burglary like this More times than not it is.
46:58
I'm a male individual who commits this type of
47:00
crime. And. There is a couple
47:02
parts where the swinging the hammer. That. Makes
47:05
me think otherwise. But for the most part
47:07
on. Seventy. Thirty that this
47:09
is a male individual, and I feel
47:11
that the equipment, the tactical gear, Was.
47:14
More than likely obtained online at
47:16
some other point. Or. Maybe even
47:18
out like a thrift store or something like
47:20
that where they purchased this equipment because. They.
47:24
Had. Fantasies of being in law enforcement, but
47:26
for one reason or another. Could. Never
47:28
be hired, right? Maybe it on. A
47:31
mental evaluation that they didn't pass or a
47:33
physical evaluations that he didn't pass may be
47:36
due to a disability and that would explain
47:38
the walk. But. Did this person had
47:40
a fantasy of being in a position of authority
47:42
but could never get there? And. Maybe
47:44
that's why they purchase this equipment previously.
47:46
I don't think it was purchased or
47:49
borrowed for the specific event because if
47:51
it had been. Maybe someone
47:53
in that area would remember it. It
47:55
was purchased locally. For. Example: If
47:57
it was a female who borrowed the. Oversight:
48:00
Equipment from a male. Unless.
48:02
It was that. Dot. Person's husband.
48:05
More. Than likely they would come forward and say
48:07
yes. So and so. Borrow. This equipment
48:09
from me a couple days ago. This tactical
48:11
gear. It's mine. I'm a police officer and
48:13
for some reason they said they wanted it
48:15
for a costume party, but when I saw
48:17
the video I knew that was my gear.
48:20
Now. Is there a chance that someone did
48:22
see that and out of loyalty, husband came
48:24
forward. Potentially. But I
48:26
think it's more likely that you're looking
48:29
at an individual who hard disk equipment
48:31
previously. Decided. To commit
48:33
this crime is burglary and was
48:35
looking for something to cover up
48:37
their identity and this is the.
48:40
Outfit. That they came up with an
48:42
maybe they found some gratification and at walking
48:44
around wearing this knowing they were going to
48:46
be seen. On. Camera. And.
48:49
Just a touch again on the on the burglary
48:51
element of it. Again, some people come back
48:53
at me and say hey derek. You.
48:55
Say burglary use a burglary but
48:58
nothing was taken again. The.
49:00
And ten could have been to. Go in there does
49:02
damage property. Or. Could have been to
49:04
take something but when this incident took a
49:06
turn. And. This individual murdered someone.
49:09
They decided to leave everything behind and
49:11
get out of there as fast as
49:13
possible. That's. The simple explanation.
49:15
and sometimes in these investigations, the simple
49:17
answer the right one. So.
49:19
Now a couple things of where this investigation
49:22
can go and there's a lot of people
49:24
working on this and I'm sure most of
49:26
these ideas have been explored. It.
49:28
Doesn't seem like there's a lot of the
49:30
name is case. From what I've learned that
49:32
what they did find wasn't enough to develop
49:34
a profile. Or. It doesn't appear that
49:36
they the assailant was injured during this altercation
49:38
with Missy or while breaking any the glass
49:41
or you don't have a lot of dna
49:43
there. They. Did a good job of
49:45
covering up their face. I do think it's a
49:47
good idea. To. Get all cell tower
49:50
data to see what phones were connecting
49:52
to the nearest cell tower during those
49:54
times, but. Midlothian. Isn't.
49:57
Like. This desolate area that's not
49:59
populated by. The by their store fronts,
50:01
there's buildings. There's there's houses. So there's
50:03
a lot going on in Midlothian, where
50:05
I'm sure there was a lot of
50:07
cellphones connecting to those towers. At that
50:09
time, it would almost be physically impossible
50:11
to go through them all and and
50:13
in individually rule out each and every
50:16
phone number. It's just. It's.
50:18
Now possible he can't do it is unless
50:20
there was only twenty or thirty cellphones connecting
50:22
to that tower at that time. In
50:24
that direction of the cell phone, it would be
50:26
very hard to rule them all out. More.
50:29
Than likely the cell phone data would
50:31
be supportive of a potential suspect. What?
50:33
I mean by that is if they had someone in mind
50:35
who they felt. Was. Good for the
50:37
crime. They could see if that individuals
50:40
cellphone bounced off that tower during the
50:42
time of the incident building the case
50:44
against this person. But do I think.
50:47
The. Cell phone data. Would. Be
50:49
the start of identifying a potential
50:51
suspect. Know. Unfortunately, that's that's
50:54
not how it usually goes. And.
50:56
Finally I want to talk about. Why?
50:58
This case has not been solved to
51:00
this day or least why I believe.
51:03
That. It hasn't been solved Eight years later.
51:05
As we're talking about, it's a few
51:07
days after the eighth anniversary. And.
51:09
Many of you are not going to like. Aren't.
51:11
My explanation. In
51:14
any investigation, especially a homicide, you're
51:16
looking for individuals who are involved
51:18
in that victims life prior to
51:21
their death. And your
51:23
reverse engineer at you go through
51:25
the victim cell phone data, their
51:27
their search history, who they've been
51:30
hanging out with, if they're if
51:32
they're having relationships with specific individuals,
51:34
whether it's spouses or someone outside
51:36
the marriage. Anybody who could be
51:38
potentially connected to this person. And
51:41
then you look for possible motives with those
51:43
individuals Why they would want to hurt or
51:46
kill this person? Once.
51:48
You've explored all of those individuals in
51:50
or people of the church. Missy.
51:52
Spouses: her, her colleagues, her
51:54
friends. And. All those individuals
51:57
are ruled out. It's really
51:59
hard to go. From mare. So.
52:01
Have you have been offender in
52:03
this particular case who has no
52:05
connection to Missy Beavers? And there's
52:08
a real possibility that. They
52:10
had never encountered each other before
52:12
this event. Then. It's gonna
52:15
be very hard to reverse engineer this
52:17
case and connected back to them. There
52:20
might be nothing there. This person might have
52:22
came into this church. Without. Ever
52:24
being near before. And. Just happened
52:26
to choose this place for. A. Random
52:28
reason that none of us can even
52:31
figure out. So. If they've
52:33
never encountered Missy before this incident,
52:35
How. Do you tie it back to them? unless they
52:37
start to talk about it to someone else? If
52:40
they don't their mouth and they're the
52:42
only person who knows what they did.
52:45
Unless they tell someone. They
52:47
could take that secret to their grace. And
52:50
unfortunately, I think that's what we might be
52:52
dealing with here. This. Individual
52:54
did not know who Missy Beavers
52:57
was. They. Went to the church they
52:59
were going to steal something where they were going to
53:01
damage the property. And. Fortunately
53:03
for Missy, she showed up at the
53:06
wrong time. And she was killed because
53:08
of it. This. Individual fled the
53:10
scene. And is probably never
53:12
talked about this incident again. We
53:14
don't even know if this individual
53:16
is still alive. But.
53:18
Law enforcement officers are not
53:21
magicians. So. If there's no
53:23
evidence, whether that dna or trace evidence
53:25
or digital data, if there's nothing to
53:27
connect this person to it other than
53:29
the video footage that we have. What?
53:32
Can they really do? And.
53:34
That's why I think at this point
53:36
any investigation and they have said this
53:38
publicly. They still waiting
53:40
for that critical piece of information.
53:43
That's. Going to identify. The.
53:45
Individual involved and then once they how
53:48
that person. Then. They can
53:50
reverse engineer from this person's background to
53:52
tie them back to the crime scene.
53:55
But. Until they have that name. There's.
53:57
Not much they can do. And.
53:59
I know. That is revelation can
54:01
be demoralizing. But. That's why
54:03
we continue to cover these cases. We may
54:05
not know who this person is today. But.
54:08
We may know who they are tomorrow and you
54:10
may be able to help with that. So. If.
54:13
You have any information about this case? You.
54:15
Can call crimestoppers of Alice County
54:18
at nine, seven, two. Nine.
54:20
Three, Seven. Seven. To nine
54:22
seven. Or. Even called the
54:24
Midlothian Police Department Criminal Investigative Division
54:26
and Nine Seven to. Seven.
54:28
Seven, Five Seven, Six, Three,
54:31
four, And. By the way, there
54:33
is a one hundred and fifty thousand dollar
54:35
reward. As always I want
54:37
to some my thoughts are to Missy's
54:39
family, especially her three daughters alley, Sarah
54:41
and Hannah. They deserve to know what
54:43
happened to their mother and to see
54:45
the person responsible held accountable for their
54:48
actions. So we're going to continue fighting
54:50
for them. And as far as this
54:52
case in this format a please let
54:54
me know what you think of it,
54:56
this will not be a normal occurrence.
54:58
But if you'd like to see me
