Throughout my entire life I had to be in control of everything. If I wasn't in control of everything, I felt out of place and not needed. Only recently have I been able to reduce the amount of control that I have. My daughter recently graduated from high school, and I eliminated the need to be in control of every aspect of her graduation day. As uncomfortable as it felt, it was good for me to not have to rely on others to fulfill my needs.
