TRANSCRIPT - 18th march 2021I have been finding myself in a reading slump lately. I used to consider myself a voracious reader, not anymore though. This reading slump has lasted too long, to a point where I started to question the very belief of me identifying myself as someone who finds her comfort in books. Until today.It's not that I didn't enjoy reading, rather the fact that I was forcing myself to read books that somehow would intellectually stimulate me. and in the process of trying to be intellectually potent, I ignored the fact the reading in its entirety was not just bout gathering facts and facets but it was also about an escape in a dystopian world and traveling through time, and maybe feeling myself in the shoes of the protagonist and let my imagination run free with the guidance of mere signaling words. despite being an incredible source for knowledge reading was also about embarking on an unknown journey on the first page of every book and taking challenges on as the pages turn.today I picked up 'The Selection' by Kiera Cass and it made me realize how much I missed just for the heck of it. one day I can be a princess running in the humongous corridors of a Castle, another day maybe I can be a time traveler. The possibilities are endless here. As a result of this newfound excitement and discovery of a long-lost love for reading, I finished a 336-page book in one sitting, and honestly, I don't think I have felt so alive in a long long time. |×| The diary of an undiscovered writer is exactly what it sounds like full of muse and melting feelings of a writer. Maybe you will find your inspiration here or maybe you will not. Either way a little romanticizing and a little gratefulness in form of carefully crafted words never hurts anyone.
