Dr. Elaine Howard Ecklund is a Professor of Sociology and director of the Religion and Public Life Program at Rice University.  Her recent book, "Why Science and Faith Need Each Other: 8 Shared Values that Move us Beyond Fear" takes a novel approach emphasizing similarities rather than differences between science and faith.
