R-Cubed
Disrupting inter-generational cycles of trauma: a R-cubed podcastThe spectre of how trauma is recycled in South Africa, and many other places in the world, needs to be understood if we are to effectively shift the trauma trajectory and its affects (such as violence). Taking a path less followed, our approach to trauma works from the interconnection of neuroscience and social and historical realities, moving away from a largely event and medical oriented model of trauma to one that aknowledges the historical and current realities of inequality, racism, poverty and violence. Therefore, as practitioners in the field, we will be making use of this podcast to engage with relevant challenges in the context of continuous trauma. Most of the time the podcast will only involve R-Cubed trauma disruptors, a term used to describe the team members of R-Cubed. R-cubed is a Cape Town (South Africa) based group of people with an extensive and diverse set of experiences who embrace a trauma-informed lens to assist people, companies and organisations to be able to effectively respond to trauma in a way that helps to Restore( hope) Reconnect (relationships) and Rebuild (a vibrant environment). We will also be engaging with other practitioners and with those individuals and groups in the midst of disrupting trauma. Ultimately these conversations to be presented here are starters, with an emphasis that the work required in transformation requires depth and continual engagement. We will look to delve deeper through blogs, videos and workshops where possible. For that keep an eye on www.r-cubed.co or on facebook and instagram (rcubedct).
