More about Ann:
Like many people, my real financial education didn’t start until my mid 20s. As I got older, I began to recognize that there was a huge gap in the expectation that I should be saving money and the education to know how. I knew I wanted the freedom, choice, and impact money would give me – but I didn’t know how to make it happen. And, thinking about the future and retirement planning can be a stretch when you feel like retirement is this abstract thing. I mean, who knows if I’ll still be alive?! I’m alive TODAY!

Luckily for me, I met a woman who was a financial professional and her energy and attentiveness inspired me to want to set up an appointment with her. I knew I wasn’t on “track” and I felt a comfort with her that I hadn’t felt talking about money before. At our meeting together, she provided an education that I needed. We don’t learn this stuff in school, right? So this was what did it for me. A light switch went on, and I saw how simple it could be to be building wealth and setting myself up for the future.

At the time I was learning to take more control of my finances, I started to pay more attention to how I was living and I began to feel something was missing from my life in general. Around that time, I received a mailer from a meditation center offering an introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Something resonated with me, so I signed up for a three-day workshop – which ended up changing my life.

After delving into a longer course of study on mindfulness, I began to feel like I was stepping into an entirely new paradigm, I learned gratitude and the power behind it – and doing so brought immediate results into my life. I traveled abroad on a path of self-development and conscious transformation. I took a ten-day silent meditation retreat in New Zealand; I spent time at a retreat and wellness center in New York, taking courses on mindfulness, intuition, emotional freedom technique (EFT), tapping, and meditation; I got my 200-hour yoga teacher certification; and I spent three months in Nicaragua to re-evaluate where I was going next. All of this allowed me to step out of my patterning and conditioning and get clear on my true purpose.
