Doctors of the USA welcomes Dr. Shani V. Davis, Ph.D., ANP-BC, CDE, a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Tampa Bay Community Leadership Board, to talk about diabetes and its health risks. Listen in as she shares new ideas and information to improve the lives of people affected by diabetes and build awareness of this epidemic. Dr. Shani Davis has been a board certified adult nurse practitioner and certified diabetes educator for over 12 years. She received a bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree in adult and geriatric advanced nursing practice from Florida A&M University. Also, she completed the Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of South Florida this past summer. The vast majority of her experience has been in endocrinology, and she has worked, presented, and instructed on advanced diabetes management strategies throughout Florida. Currently, she practices with 2 local physicians and teaches diabetes education in several other offices in the Tampa area. She serves on the boards of Diabetes Charitable Services, the American Diabetes Association Tampa Community Leadership Board, and she has been a member of the ADA’s Clinical Conference on Diabetes planning committee for the past 3 years.
