Dogmatics and theology will almost be used synonymously for the intents and purposes of this podcast and website. It simply means the study of the Christian Holy Scriptures to uncover the definite truths of reality. Therefore, when we engage in dogmatics we are seeking to understand all that the Bible teaches about the truths it reveals. The second word in the name of this website is apologetics. Apologetics is a word that is used to speak about the defense of the Christian faith. It is in apologetics that we seek to defend the truths we uncover in dogmatics. Without theology, or dogmaitcs, apologetics would not be possible because there would be no truth to defend. Therefore, apologetics seeks to understand the truths of dogmatics with the intent of defending them and proclaiming them to others. And finally the last word found in our name is ethics. Ethics is all about how we put the truths we learn to action. It is the goal of ethics to take the truths uncovered in dogmatics and to practically apply them to all areas of life. Each of these words play an important part in the life of the Christian and it is therefore important for all to understand them.
