The Disney Memory Maker (formerly known as Photo Pass) is an absolute must-have for your Disney vacation. Read on to learn why, whether your at Disney World for the weekend or two weeks, you MUST buy the Disney Memory Maker.
Some of you may be wondering what is this Memory Maker of which you speak? Well, it’s an optional add on to your Disney vacation that allows you to get EVERY PHOTO that is taken of your family, whether on a ride or by a Disney PhotoPass photographer. Want that iconic photo of your family in front of Cinderella Castle? You got it. Waving your hands like you just don’t care on Mine Train? It’s yours.
Disney Memory Maker is an additional cost. Currently, if you wait to purchase at the parks, you’ll pay $199. You can save $30, though, if you order it online, just 3 days prior to your arrival.
I know what you’re saying. “I already paid a small fortune for my Disney vacation! Why do I have to spend another $200??” Well, let me explain why I think it’s worth every penny, possibly more.
The name itself tells you why it’s worth the money. Recently, we lost a hard drive while on vacation. The drive fell off a counter. It had nearly 2TB of video footage on it. It had a single clip of my wife, crying, after experiencing something that had been on her bucket list for years (dog sledding in the snow). I am personally devastated to have lost just that one clip from the hard drive. The cost to recover it is exorbitant. I would gladly pay $200 to recover it.
These are the kinds of memories you will capture and save with the Disney Memory Maker. The first time your daughter meets her favorite princess. Your son shaking Buzz Lightyear’s hand. Your family riding their first roller coaster, together.
Capturing your daughter meeting her favorite Princess for the first time at Disney World is worth the cost of the Disney Memory Maker.
Because it’s Disney, you have options to get photos that include “extra magic.” Hanging with the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Adding your family into a famous painting. Getting pics with your favorite Disney characters.
They even have video and animation Extra Magic shots available!

To get these Extra Magic photos, you just have to ask the PhotoPass photographer for the “extra magic” shots. There’s no additional charge, if you have the Memory Maker.
The ride photos and videos just automatically (magically?) get added to your Magic Band and Memory Maker. Just one ride video will cost you $40, so these will quickly pay for your Disney Memory Maker.
When you view your photos on the Memory Maker site, you can also edit them. This is a great option for adding that little extra bit of magic to your memories.
You can add frames, change the orientation, make it black & white, add stickers, and crop the photos. This really makes the pictures your own. Adding a little touch of magic to your memories.
Just one of these reasons would make the Disney Memory Maker a worthwhile purchase for any Disney vacation, but all three together make it a must-have for your next Disney trip!
