In this episode, Dr. Juli and Betsy go back hundreds of thousands of years to explore what Los Angeles looked like long before it became the thriving metropolis it is today. They sat down to chat with Dr. Emily Lindsey, assistant curator and site director at the LA Brea Tar Pits, the world's most famous Ice Age Fossil excavation site.  Dr. Lindsey is a paleoecologist whose work focuses on how past ecosystems -- including Ice Age animals and environments – functioned, and what we can learn from this regarding challenges to our own animals and environments in the face of today's global changes.
