On the 10th Sunday after Pentecost (also called the 9th Sunday of Ordinary Time), Pastor Scott Crowder continues a series on the book of Romans. This week we read from Romans 9:1-5 examining Paul's expression of sacrificial love for his own ethnic family, the Jewish people. This kind of love represents God's heart for all of humanity as seen in Jesus going to the cross for the sins of the world. This kind of love is how Jesus calls us to carry the burden of the world. Christians are called to follow the loving way of Jesus and to put away any feelings of superiority that might exist because of what we believe or any certainty gained by receiving God's grace and mercy.
