Hey Traveler! DTF is a pitstop to refuel, not for too long as we’re training to be one percent better. Every other week we deep dive into the scriptures to share Hope, Love & Encouragement just as Jesus would want us do.

We’re also passionate about productivity and knocking off that work-life balance thing.

Be a blessing and share with a friend.

Matthew 9:9-13

9⌄¶ As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.

10⌄¶ While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples.

11⌄ When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

12⌄¶ On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

13⌄ But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’1   For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

In the bustling streets of first-century Galilee, amidst the myriad voices and stories that echoed through time, there stood a man named Matthew. He was not just any man; he was a literate member of society, a tax collector. In a world where societal roles were clearly defined, Matthew's profession set him apart. He was a keeper of records and a collector of taxes, often associated with corruption and greed.

But when the call came, when the voice of a humble carpenter from Nazareth echoed through the streets, Matthew did something extraordinary. He followed Jesus without hesitation. He left behind the confines of his tax booth, his life as a man of influence, to walk alongside a teacher who offered a message of hope, compassion, and transformation.

He used his connections and social network to introduce Jesus to more people, bridging the gap between the ordinary and the divine. Through Matthew's eyes, we witness the transformative power of service, the ability to use one's gifts for a higher purpose.
