0:45
Every day, there is an opportunity
0:47
to get better at something except we're
0:50
missing it because it's coming in the
0:52
form of discomfort uncomfortable
0:54
conversations or
0:57
things that we're saying yes to when we
0:59
really wanna be saying no to different things.
1:09
And we're back
1:10
With another episode of He said, she
1:12
said
1:12
We're back to the race track. How awesome
1:14
was that? Explain
1:16
it, Chris. What were we at?
1:17
Basically, so there's tracks
1:19
all place, but here in Scottsdale
1:21
area, racing is a big thing. And
1:24
there's Bradford Racing School where they'll
1:26
teach you, you know, their everyday
1:28
person like how to handle cars. And
1:30
if you wanna go to race school, learn how to actually,
1:32
you know, get the the acumen
1:34
of being a race car driver, you can do that too.
1:37
and they've got a few activities that we've
1:39
done as a mastermind. And there was so much
1:41
fun that we go back now. Like, just
1:43
Laurie and I and our friends, and we
1:45
do those those trainings, those activities, because
1:47
you don't get a chance to, like, throw
1:49
cars all around and, you know, go as fast as you
1:51
can around tracking that kind of thing in in the everyday
1:53
wild. Right?
1:54
Oh my goodness. It was so much fun. Okay. So there's
1:57
racing so you can go around the track in your individual
1:59
car where you're
1:59
driving. So I got to drive. Chris got to drive. All of
2:02
our friends got to drive their own car. but
2:04
then there's also rallies, which is my favorite
2:06
because you have to work as a team and
2:09
Like a relay race. What a relay race?
2:11
and there was five or six of us on
2:13
each team and you had to go through these
2:15
cones and, like, go as fast as you possibly
2:17
can and it took some skill because otherwise you
2:19
knock the cones over and then you get time
2:21
taken off. Yeah. It's a slalom relay. Right?
2:23
Anyhow, the whole thing is we're probably boring
2:25
you guys right now, but it is so fun because
2:28
you're given these eight hundred horsepower which
2:30
is insane.
2:31
And you get to just tear ass
2:34
as
2:34
fast as you want. You get to beat the
2:36
daylights out of them. And, like, the
2:38
harder you are in the car, the more proud the instructors
2:41
of you is the best thing ever.
2:41
Yeah. And I think that this ties in actually,
2:44
with the podcast today.
2:46
And it is Where are
2:48
you wasting the opportunities?
2:51
And thinking about I just wanna jump into
2:53
it with the perspective of what we just
2:55
did. you know, going around the racetrack,
2:57
it is really uncomfortable when you are
2:59
pushed going fast in something
3:01
that you're not sure of yet.
3:03
So when you get in the vehicle, your first
3:05
time around the track, they really push you
3:07
to go faster, but you're unsure of the vehicle and
3:09
you're unsure of your skill. You don't know how
3:11
fast to go. You don't know, you know, if
3:13
you can trust yourself yet, if you can trust the
3:15
car. And so there a
3:17
lot of missed opportunities by
3:20
not pushing yourself meaning that
3:22
when I was really uncomfortable, I was
3:24
like, oh, this is interesting. you
3:26
know, the more and more I went around the track, the
3:28
more I was
3:29
like, I'm not getting a ton
3:31
more comfortable. It's like you but
3:33
I was observing that I liked to be
3:35
safe. I wanted to play it safe.
3:37
I wanted to go slow. And I was
3:39
like, this is interesting. I'm skipping
3:41
the opportunity
3:41
to not only get better
3:44
at this,
3:44
but to find my own
3:46
edges. Like, I know I'm not gonna flip the
3:48
car. They already
3:49
told me I'm not. I know that I'm really safe.
3:51
They're not gonna let me do something unsafe.
3:54
and there's a lead person in front of me who
3:56
works with the track. I was like, wow,
3:58
I don't want to waste and
4:00
miss this opportunity because I know last
4:02
time we did it, I went home and I was like,
4:04
man, I didn't play full out. I feel disappointed
4:06
in myself. And this made
4:08
me really think about all of the different opportunities
4:11
that we miss every day. I have another example, but Chris,
4:13
I just wanna know.
4:13
I wanna ask you. Like -- Yeah. -- do you feel like you
4:16
played all out this time, or did you leave anything on the
4:18
track pun intended? No.
4:19
I feel like I played all out. I feel like
4:21
I was caught up with everyone. I feel like
4:23
they were maybe holding back for me this
4:25
time.
4:25
Interesting. What do you mean? The instructors. I
4:27
think the instructor was like, oh, I don't I
4:30
literally think they most all women
4:32
there were saying they wanted to go slower.
4:34
And so I'm sure that I got lumped in
4:36
there, and I'm sure I, like, said it too,
4:38
maybe. I don't I don't remember. It's
4:40
interesting. So my example of this, like,
4:42
pushing my edges we've been big on fitness classes
4:44
lately. Yep. And we've been going to Orange Theory.
4:46
And and we just got Orange Theory while I look back
4:48
at Pictures. That's when I was most fit. Like, I
4:50
loved I looked when we were going
4:52
to Earn during the other time. And,
4:54
obviously, my goal is to get back to to
4:56
that look, that level of fitness. So I was
4:58
saying, let's go back to doing things that we weren't. And
5:00
for me, Orange Theory, adding that in a
5:02
few times a week gives me a chance
5:04
to really push my edge
5:07
because of the sprints, because of the
5:09
rolling, because of everything. I mean, I
5:11
am bent over ready
5:13
to puke like sweat
5:15
pouring and I just don't do that
5:17
on my own and I just don't do that Ironically,
5:20
I with a personal trainer, I go somewhere
5:22
in the middle. You know, if my own is
5:24
like a five and if orange
5:26
theory because of the atmosphere of the room and they're
5:28
tracking your calories burned and your
5:30
spot points and all this other stuff, if that's
5:32
a ten, then with a trainer, I might have
5:34
like an eight. You know what I mean? Mhmm. So it gives
5:36
me a chance to push my edge, like, Earn
5:38
I do max speed on the treadmill? Can
5:41
I do these rowing reps faster?
5:43
and I know this guy sounds dumb. But
5:45
when you go there with the mentality,
5:47
of I'm gonna beat my score last
5:50
time and I'm a big numbers guy. Right?
5:52
So I'm always trying to beat the
5:54
eight hundred calories that I burnt last time.
5:56
I'm trying to beat the flat
5:58
points that I got last time. I compete with
6:00
myself more than I compete
6:02
with anything else. And it
6:04
is that drive to beat what I did
6:06
last time that you know, makes me leave it
6:08
all on the table there where I'm
6:10
about to follow her dead.
6:19
I
6:19
know I'm preaching to the choir when I say this, like
6:21
I literally do not have to tell you this,
6:23
but I'm just gonna say it. because we're in
6:25
it together. Running a business and
6:27
being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of
6:29
heart. It's hard work. It could be
6:31
stressful. It requires focus, energy,
6:33
and stamina. And let me tell
6:35
you, it's like a whole new way
6:37
of trying to figure out how to
6:39
deal with stress, like healthy
6:41
ways. for how to deal
6:43
with stress. And it requires
6:45
a lot of sleep. You guys, because
6:47
every time we sleep, ourselves
6:50
turnover and recreate themselves. So
6:52
getting good sleep is literally critical for
6:54
me. I am a different person without it.
6:56
And Seoul CBD helps me to do that with
6:58
their CBD gummies and bath bombs. One
7:00
of my favorite pre sleep rituals is
7:02
to throw a CBD bath bomb into the
7:04
tub, light a candle, and take two gummies. Seriously,
7:07
guys, by the time I am done, I
7:09
am ready to, like, slip
7:11
off to sleep land. Then I make sure
7:13
my phone is across the room. I make
7:15
sure it's on do not disturb, not
7:17
by my bed. Maybe I read some fiction
7:20
or maybe I just lay there and meditate
7:22
or visualize I don't
7:23
know, going to sleep or my
7:25
business running perfectly. All
7:27
of Seoul CBD's products are ninety nine
7:29
percent hemp derived. They're non toxic, organic,
7:32
stainably sourced. Basically, that
7:34
means it's good. I'm
7:36
pumped that CellCBD is a podcast
7:39
sponsor because I'm legitimately
7:40
obsessed and
7:42
I actually just took two and
7:44
it is eight fifty one PM
7:46
at night and I am hoping to be
7:48
in bed in the next twenty minutes
7:50
you guys. So make sure to use code
7:52
Lori at checkout. You'll
7:54

7:56
your anxiety, but you'll get fifteen
7:58

7:59

8:02

8:03
it. So go to the show notes and click my
8:05
special link so you can shop and learn more about
8:07
this. awesome product that I'm obsessed with.
8:09
Let's get back to the episode.
8:14
actually
8:16
was thinking of this podcast today. I
8:18
didn't arrange the request today. I swear
8:20
they're not sponsoring us, but they really should.
8:23
So I was thinking about
8:25
this while I was there because
8:27
we
8:28
have one hour that we're working out
8:30
in
8:31
the day. Right? Like majority of the people
8:33
in that class that is the
8:35
only hour that we're probably gonna do
8:37
a workout or move our bodies.
8:39
Let's just think that that is what
8:40
everybody's doing.
8:42
And I would observe, so what happens
8:44
is you run at a base pace, then you do a push
8:46
pace, then you can do an all out. And
8:48
whether this is on the floor or a rower or
8:50
whether this was on the treadmill, I
8:52
would observe that a lot of people in
8:54
there, I would say seventy percent of the
8:56
people in there really, really
8:59
hold back -- Mhmm. -- on the pushes and
9:01
all outs. And I know
9:03
that they hold back because they'll do
9:05
a hard push and one all out,
9:07
and they'll do one of them, but they won't do all
9:09
of them. Right? So I know they're capable of it. And
9:11
I thought, where in life?
9:14
Are we missing the
9:16
opportunity to get better
9:19
because we're holding back. We're
9:21
like, I don't feel like today. I don't
9:23
You know what? I'm just gonna wait. I'm
9:25
just gonna do one. And not only did
9:27
I think of this, it made me actually not even think
9:29
physically about it, it made me think
9:31
about the holidays coming up. and
9:34
being with family and when we get
9:36
triggered through different things or when
9:38
we're really busy and people are asking
9:40
us if we wanna go to all these different
9:42
things that we don't wanna do, we're
9:44
missing the opportunity
9:45
to become the person that we want by
9:48
having the tough conversations. or by
9:50
observing that, yeah, maybe you
9:52
didn't love how that person reacted, but can
9:54
you let it go? Can you release it?
9:56
Or We're missing the opportunity to
9:58
get really good at saying no to the things we
9:59
don't wanna do in a loving way. And being
10:02
at peace with it, every
10:04
day, there is an upper tunity
10:06
to get better at something except
10:08
we're missing it because it's coming
10:10
in the form of discomfort, uncomfortable
10:13
conversations, or
10:15
things that we're saying yes to
10:17
when we really wanna be saying no to different things.
10:19
That's interesting. So one of the things I've
10:21
noticed since we've gone back and really
10:23
started working out extra
10:25
extra hard. Right? The the orange is there anything and all
10:27
that stuff. Everything else seems easier.
10:29
Now my other workouts, I've picked up the pace of
10:31
those things. I pushed myself more of those. because they
10:33
seem so much easier now. Doesn't
10:35
matter where you're pushing your edge. Doesn't matter
10:37
where you're taking advantage of, not missing that opportunity
10:39
to push your edge. it makes everything else
10:41
you do, then feel Easier. And I
10:43
watch people struggle through life thinking things
10:45
are hard that really aren't hard. And I'm
10:47
sorry, but too many people go
10:49
through life thinking that what they think is a
10:51
challenge is actually not a challenge at all. It's just
10:53
that they haven't pushed any edges. They
10:55
haven't really explored the opportunity
10:57
to to expand themselves, and so
10:59
the average feels tough
11:02
instead of the tough feeling average. This
11:04
is interesting. I was recently
11:07
traveling and running on a treadmill.
11:09
And it was early in the morning before a session
11:11
that I needed to be at. And I
11:13
was like saying in my head, I myself
11:16
saying this mantra, this is so
11:18
hard. And you guys, I was probably running at, like,
11:20
five point six. And for
11:22
some of you that's fast, for some of you
11:24
that's really, really slow. And I'm
11:26
tall, like, I could probably run
11:28
faster. And I was literally saying, like, this is
11:30
so hard. And I said to myself,
11:32
if you wanna make this easier,
11:34
do something harder. Yeah. So
11:36
I cranked it up to give myself some
11:38
perspective. And I said, okay. So for two minutes, I'm gonna
11:40
run at seven. and guess how much
11:42
easier 5II was looking
11:44
forward -- Well, like, a walk in a parking lot. -- I was
11:46
looking forward to five point six. And I was,
11:48
like, interesting. and I did it that fast.
11:50
And I was like, okay, we're gonna run at
11:52
seven again for a minute in three
11:54
minutes. And it was so crazy that
11:56
I went from The five point six
11:58
being the hardest thing that
11:59
morning to I can't wait to
12:02
get back to five point six and
12:03
it feels like a walk in the park
12:05
compared to making myself run seven.
12:07
Well, I think the best message then
12:09
out of this is if you think whatever is
12:12
hard right now, your finances are hard, your
12:14
career is hard, your business is hard, your relationship
12:16
is hard, whatever. I think you need to go out and
12:18
find a place to explore some some
12:20
much chopper edges. Challenges. Because then
12:22
the stuff you think is hard now,
12:24
is actually gonna feel a lot easier because
12:26
your perspective changes and your baseline
12:29
changes. I'm so much happier
12:31
right now, Chris. Like, looking back at
12:33
when I had really kind of, like, backed down
12:35
on a lot of things.held back. Right? Because
12:37
I'm if I'm being honest, I think
12:40
business has been so much
12:42
mental power for me lately that
12:44
what ended up happening is I was like, well,
12:46
I'm gonna go easier in these other
12:48
physical areas in my life and some other
12:50
areas where I'm just kinda like, I
12:52
took my foot off the gas and don't
12:54
get me wrong. We can't have our foot on the gas
12:56
on
12:56
everything. But for me,
12:58
I also need to be challenged
13:00
somewhere else besides just business.
13:02
And the more that I have challenged
13:05
myself physically during this I've noticed
13:07
I
13:07
have become so much
13:10
more mentally capable.
13:12
Oh my god. Like, if I can
13:14
just be present for my workout and be like,
13:16
this is helping me so much. How can I
13:18
actually enjoy this
13:20
process and challenge myself? and try
13:22
not to hold back too much and, like, try
13:24
to push myself a little more. The more
13:26
I notice, I'm showing up way more
13:29
powerfully even in my meetings. Like,
13:31
I just feel better about myself.
13:33
I'm proud of myself.
13:34
Oh, guys. Take this prompt. Take this
13:36
opportunity to go explore your
13:38
edges. Don't miss those opportunities to
13:40
push yourself to your max, to maybe
13:42
fail, to push yourself so hard that you fail because
13:44
it's gonna make everything else in your life seem
13:46
that much easier. It's gonna make the tough
13:48
stuff actually feel mundane
13:50
and when that happens, boy, your whole life
13:52
elevates. Thanks for listening. We love
13:54
and appreciate you. Don't forget I
13:56
send out a positive money mindset
13:58
mantra or business perspective every single
14:00
morning, so you can view the
14:02
world through an abundant
14:04
lens before your feet hit the ground. totally
14:06
free. Lori gave me the idea because I always
14:08
wake her up to a mantra years ago, almost
14:10
two years now, a year and a half ago. And now
14:12
thousands and thousands of you wake up to
14:14
my morning mantra. you wanna on that
14:16
list, just text me the word daily. So
14:18
3104210416
14:20
so I know to put you on a list literally that easy,
14:22
totally free, no strings attached. Text me the word
14:24
daily, and I'll throw you on the list. Text me
14:27
daily to 3104210416
14:31
Alright, guys. so grateful for you,
14:33
and we will see you next week. Bye
14:35
bye.
