The third podcast in a series on the San Joaquin and Edison Railroad built in 1912 which traveled from the El Prado Station just below Friant to Big Creek, California. This podcast is sponsored by the Eastern Fresno County Historical Society and produced entirely by the students at Sierra High School in Tollhouse, California. The historical accounts and photos have been provided by Bud Olson, president of the Historical Society and retired middle school history teacher. The S.J. & E. Railroad was built by the Edison Company to transport all of the supplies and materials to build their hydroelectric powerhouses starting with Big Creek. It was an amazing feat of engineering and construction, especially considering that it was completed within just 90 days!
