A podcast for our volunteers as we grow as a team in reaching students in the Treasure Valley for Jesus.
This episode Connor and Gabe talk with Courtney, our Surprise Valley Associate Minister about how we as volunteers and leaders of our students can help facilitate student relationships.
SHOW NOTES
Questions we asked and answered:
- Our small groups have interesting, healthy, and typical teenage dynamics in a small group. What do you think our role is in these students' lives in relation to their friendships with other students?
- When things get hard, or heated, what is the role of the small group leader?
- This could be a conflict within your group.
- This could be a conflict between one of your students and another student outside your group.
- How can we go outside of our group time to both build relationships with our students as well as help them build healthy relationships with each other. **(what does it look like to build relationships with our students and help them build relationships with each other outside of small group time?)
- Okay, let’s go there. As our students start “crushing” on each other, what is our role in guiding them through exploring the “dating” world
- Why is it important for us to be more than just “question askers” during services and to truly be relational with our students and help them be relational with each other?
