You're listening to d M Venue, a podcast for all of the DM lovers
0:05
and headbangers out there, and this podcast you will find interviews with your favorite
0:09
artist. Here we go, this is Dom here one five. iHeartMedia,
0:33
I heart radio, and I'm here at the legendary Hardwell how is it going.
0:37
I'm really high. I'm excited back at the Ultra. This is like,
0:41
I don't know, man, this is what I live for. Man, this whole Miami Music Week. I love it back on the Ultra.
0:46
So many great faces here and yeah, enjoying live. Brother. Hey,
0:50
you know I would consider you maybe the king of Ultra. Oh wow,
0:54
that's the biggest compliment. Thank you, thank you so much. Yeah,
0:57
that's a big honor. Well, you know, I know it's it's like,
1:00
what, maybe at least your eighth time here least well, yeah,
1:04
at least who I actually lost, Come to be honest, I think twelve,
1:08
twenty fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen eighteen, it's gonna be my
1:12
eighth time on the main stage. You're right, Yeah, there we go,
1:17
And that's a fail being back after you know, I know last year
1:19
you came back after a little hiatus. Yeah, how was that hiatus for
1:23
you, that was great the performers last year, Like, I was really
1:27
happy, But I've never been that nervous in my life before, like just
1:33
going out there having playing for four years, only playing new music out there,
1:37
you know, the Rebels never lie album. So it was like a yeah, like a big stuff for me to come up with, like something
1:42
new, new sounds like basically a new hardwell And yeah, it's one of
1:47
the best things I've done in my life. But don't ask me how nervous I was last year, Like I was crazy nervous, and this year,
1:53
like I'm way more relaxed, more confident and just enjoying life. Brother,
1:57
Hey, that's good to hear. That's good to hear. And uh,
2:00
I know in that hiatus you took a little break and you were working on
2:02
your record label, Revealed Recordings a little bit. Yeah, definitely. I'm
2:07
really proud to say we have our own stakes today with Revealed Recording. So
2:10
a lot of my Revealed producer and DJA friends are here and the whole Madox
2:15
is here, Doctor Farcas, here's sick individuals. You have Tony Jr.
2:20
The new upcoming guys A and g U even Joe goreus they're playing now today,
2:24
so yeah and maybe maybe uh there's this surprise guest. I don't know
2:30
who it is, surprised, but this is coming out and you know, like a week or so, it's okay, he's gonna be on a surprise
2:35
set. This guy right here Hard Well, you know, I know you've
2:38
you've been on a big world tour If Rebels Never Die. Yeah, that
2:43
was amazing, like coming back with the show and not even the music,
2:46
you know, like obviously it was an album, but then developing the whole
2:51
show or your own stage to them around the world in dead way instead of
2:53
playing the festivals. I really enjoyed it. I was so happy to be
2:57
back on stage see the fans again. And yeah, that's that's basically where
3:00
I live for, you know, like making three the album was like three
3:05
years into making and that's just me by myself in the studio, like it
3:07
was a complete solo album. And then I don't know, like you know
3:12
what music. What music makes special in my opinion is that the moment you
3:15
play a song, you create memories with your fans, like it feels like
3:19
the songs are coming to life. You know. Now if I listened to
3:22
one of my songs of my album, or play one of my songs. I still remember, Oh that one went off in New York, Oh that
3:27
one went off in China or whatever. So like, you create memories with
3:29
the music, and I think that wasn't what's make music so special. One
3:32
of my favorite memories of you, honestly last year is you throw a Linking
3:37
Park in your set and I love that just because you can't hear that anymore,
3:39
so it's just I love that you throw that in there. I'm a
3:42
use Linking Park fans, so yeah, I think my fans know that.
3:45
But that's It's like sometimes I just like, I know, like a lot
3:49
of other das just use like IDMA cappellas and make matchup. And I always
3:52
like to, you know, go a little bit out of the box, use eminem or Linking Park or just you know the bands and the rep as
3:58
I grew up with. And what are some of your music influences. It's
4:01
a lot, actually I listened to. If it comes to dance music,
4:04
I listened to every single genre. Can be a Dad Mouse record, can
4:10
be a John Summer's record, it can be whatever you name. It can
4:13
be allotted to do with everything. You know, I listened to every single genre. But besides that, I'm a really big hip hop guys. I
4:17
like, I listened to a lot of hip hop, and if I make
4:20
my music, the biggest inspiration, as I just mentioned a like basically the
4:24
fans. You know, I make a track in the studio, I play
4:26
it out for the first time, and I see the reaction of the people
4:28
and the fans, and actually I use that reaction to adjust the track a
4:32
little bit more and then release it or not. Sometimes I just play something
4:35
out and I don't release it because I'm not satisfied with the idea I had
4:40
or it didn't work out on the dance floor. Okay, okay. And
4:43
I know you have a new song with Timmy Trumpet and Maddox Revolution. Yes,
4:46
it's actually number one in the Beatports chart right now mainstage chart. Yes,
4:50
really happy with that. And I did a couple of clips with Medics
4:55
already. Actually I'm going to play the new clap with Madics tomorrow on the
4:59
main stage, a new one again. So yeah, and Timmy Trumpet we
5:02
did a couple of songs before as well, and great. It was like
5:05
the three of us on one record. It had to be something different,
5:09
and I don't know revolution that that trek works so well in my set.
5:13
I'm gonna play it tomorrow as well. I can't wait to hear it. I can't wait to hear it. And uh, what else you have?
5:17
What else you have going on? Any new announcements? Um? Well,
5:21
actually, I'm gonna do a lot of festivals. I'm coming back in the
5:25
States in May doing a small club tour, so no big festivals, just
5:29
small clubs. I like how intimate, like I used to like how I
5:31
used to DJ in the beginning, like twenty twelve, twenty thirteen, when
5:34
I started coming to the United States, And I'm coming back to the clubs
5:38
where I used to start out as DJ, just to give something back and
5:41
do like really intimate shows. Some venues are like four hundred people, so
5:45
it's like it's you know, it's like crazy intimate. That's really intimate.
5:47
I love that. I love that. That's the best feeling as a DJ.
5:50
And you could, like definitely, you could definitely relate with the crowd.
5:55
Yeah, like it. You can look defense ride in the eyes that
5:58
ride in front of you. That's the best feeling when you do club shows.
6:00
And don't get me wrong, I love playing festivals, but that's like
6:04
more like a showcase of what's coming up your new music and make a big
6:09
show and big stage and lights and the whole she bang, you know,
6:12
and being a club show is just you, the music and the fans.
6:15
And I love that. Yeah, that's great. Here, I want to hold you out too much longer. We went through her an Now smiths,
6:19
Now, my last question is going to be what does your artist writer include?
6:24
Because I ask all the artists this, and this could be everyone's got
6:28
something. Jaffer, the last guy asked, said Uncrustables. Oh yeah,
6:31
I have a framed picture of my dog. Now how did they get that?
6:36
I see my dog? She has her own Instagram, and we put
6:40
the Instagram link in the in the writers. So they just took random pictures
6:45
from their Instagram and then put it in the dressing room. That's so cute,
6:47
you know. And the funniest thing is, you want to know why
6:50
it's in the writer. Why if my two Minanjo walks into the dressing room
6:55
and he sees a framed picture of my dog, if they took the effort
6:58
to actually print a picture and frame. He knows that everything else is sept
7:01
That's absolutely true. Wow wow, not like a fancy superstar thing. I
7:08
won't have a frame picture of my dark noticed like a reason behind why it's
7:12
there. Oh wow, that's funny to hear. Hey, Hardball, I
7:15
want to thank you for your time. Thank you. And this is Dom
7:17
of Wild ninety five. iHeartMedia and we are out here at Ultra and that
7:21
is it for the new generation. There's been no ultimate deduction. We needed
8:15
to stay on the ground, millions hither from the energy of the sun.
8:22
Youngsters that would finally venture into the abyss in the sea of people, creating
8:31
a giant's way with their hands to feel. That's hechno is a true meaning
8:37
of trance. But the entire earth being has been surviving instead of thriving,
8:46
all those souls without their connection and plotation with sin. Now the time has
8:52
