Matt Worwood, Associate Director, Digital Media & Design, University of Connecticut

Imagining the future of schooling is the focus of session 15 of the Educator to Educator Podcast. Matt Worwood, Associate Director of Digital Media & Design at the University of Connecticut, discusses a project he co-founded and directs--The Class of 2023--that tackles this idea.  Matt shares how the project started, the project outcomes, and what has resulted since the project started.

The documentary film, Class of 2032: Schooling for a Digital Culture will be available for viewing on the website in the summer, and the site also offers a link to the mobile app, and a summery of the ideas generated in 2016/17.

Bio. Matthew Worwood is the co-founder and director of the Class of 2032 Project. He is also an Apple Distinguished Educator and Associate Director of Digital Media and Design at the University of Connecticut. Formally, a Digital Media Specialist at EdAdvance, Matthew has worked on a variety of statewide education initiatives in digital media, which include founding the Connecticut Student Film Festival and helping to develop the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences in 12 high schools in Connecticut.

Matthew's recent work includes the production of a documentary feature called Class of 2032: Schooling for a Digital Culture and collaboration with XennialMedia to create an accompanying mobile app that engages students, parents, and educators in a conversation about the future school experience. Matthew also serves as an Executive Board member of the EverWonder Children’s Museum in Newtown CT, blogs at DadsforCreativity.com and is a doctoral student at Johns Hopkins University School of Education.
