A quick pod/pep talk to say this: It's okay (and even empowering) to break free from suffocating wedding day traditions and "must-do's" to realize the most authentic, fulfilling celebration you've always dreamed of.

Of everyone in the world, you know what kind of celebration will represent your love story the best. When you choose not to compromise on your wedding day vision (whether it's going full tilt with a destination elopement across the pond or a taco truck for your catering), there's likely to be some bumps along the way during the wedding planning process with those you love most.

It can be hard and scary to confront those feelings and perspectives, but know this: the joy and authenticity that comes from a day that is unapologetically yours is unparalleled. This is the permission slip I want to help you write for yourself! 

I encourage you to be intentional with what you choose to invest your time and resources in when planning your wedding. Choose to embrace only what resonates with you and your partner. If it doesn't (I'm looking at your, garter toss), cut it!
