Do you struggle with starting things or going after those much desired goals because you are afraid of FAILURE?
Or
Are you worried about people thinking your failed?
The truth is with the exception of something with scientific measure we only really fail when we have not met up to our own expectation of what we expected to achieve.
Today I share with you some key tips on how to overcome this fear of Failure
Key Take aways
1. Figure out what is truly driving this fear of failure. What are you afraid of?
2. Reframe your beliefs or how you are thinking about a goal. Do you have an all or nothing attitude? Your goal should allow you have accomplishments and allow you to learn at the same time. If you can achieve both you are less like to feel like you failed.
3. Pay attention to your self-talk. Identify the triggers for negative self-talk and replace with positive thoughts and affirmations.
4. Visualize all possible outcomes to help remove uncertainty
5. Look at the worst case scenario. This helps to be prepared and remind us that discomfort is temporary
6. Have a back-up plan. Since we have thought out worst case scenarios we can have a plan to react or avoid these.
7. Learn from whatever happens. If we are always learning then we are always growing. We are then more likely to try again.
8. Get out there and do the thing. Action is power. Action brings clarity. Things not going as planned does not mean we failed.
