“Hallelujah! Salvation has come! To the lonely ones, who are the lonely ones?”

image I was listening to a song this morning, and for just a few moments the volume seemed to be louder and everything else around me quieted.  The chorus to this song seemed amplified in my head.  All I could focus on “Hallelujah! Salvation has come!  To the lonely ones, who are the lonely ones?”

A song of praise, begging to ask us a question that in the process of singing praises to the King of Kings, they shift our focus to the lost and the hurting.  My first thoughts were, that can’t be right, I must have misread the lyrics.  So I listened again.  Nope, that is exactly what they are saying.

It makes sense really.  In the midst of our praise, I believe God wants us to remember those that are lost, those that are hurting.  What an odd and strangely comfortable place to be.  In the midst of worship God called me to remember the ones who are struggling right now.  The ones who don’t know Him.

How do they get through their day, we sometimes wonder?  How do they manage without having God to lean on?  Then I remember it wasn’t all that long ago, that I was doing the same thing.  No Hope for a better life, or a better way.  Focused only on myself and my immediate needs.  Lost. Struggling. Hurting.  Going through life blinded to the glorious revelation of Jesus Christ and Himself Crucified.

Who do you know is struggling just to get by right now?  Have you ever felt that pressing need to share the love of Christ with them, but held back?  Why are we holding back?  Afraid of what they might think or say?  Eternity is at stake.  Do you ever wonder how many opportunities we have missed to share the gospel with someone, simply because we were too busy to stop and listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit?

How many times have opportunities passed me by?  One day we will have to stand before God, and we will find out.  Scripture says that we will have to give an account of our lives and it will be at that point, we will have wanted to do more.

As it has been place into the core of my being this past week, “Good is the enemy of Great.”

Are we setting for good instead of striving for great?  Why would we want to settle for good, when God has something incredible to offer us?  Why wouldn’t we want to share that with everyone?

Pray about this today.  See what God reveals to you.
