Welcome back to the Empowered Women Show. This week's guest overcame extreme shyness to become an international award-winning graphic designer and successful entrepreneur.
At only seven years old, CATHY BROADWELL took to her mother's collection of self-help books in a attempt to make friends. She's come a long way since then. After graduating from school and college (with a degree in graphic design), she climbed the corporate ladder, and landed the prestigious title of Creative Director at a full service ad agency. She loved her job very much, until one day she didn't. Laser eye surgery to fix her sight left her with a reinvigorated sense of purpose and after ongoing frustrations at work, Cathy took a calculated risk and quit her job. She went on to start her own, very successful design business which has thrived and while she admits that it was one of the scariest things she has ever done, she is a strong believer in overcoming your fears to find what truly makes you happy. She has lived her entire life pushing the boundaries of her comfort zone, determined to have fun and be more outgoing and confident.
Where once she was filled with fear, she is now filled with excitement for what the future holds.
