As a Reddit user who has been fascinated, intrigued, entertained and horrified by much of what I've seen on the site, a podcast focused on stories found on the social media platform was immediately appealing. Years later and I'm glad to say I'm still as engaged as I ever was.Endless Thread is inspired by human interest stories, topical issues and cultural matters that are raised and discussed on Reddit. As such there is a vast depth of content to tap into and the hosts, Ben and Amory, do so with avid curiosity and relatable, genuine enthusiasm. They have wonderful and sincere rapport with each other, which effortlessly feeds into the tone of any particular episode. At times the show seems burdened by being tied to its Reddit premise; the story may come first and a tenuous link to the site appears tacked on. However, the very best of the show does lean into Reddit history and infamy, with episodes such as Geedis, Randonauts, Grateful Doe, We Want Plates/Pile of Crockery, Something Wicked and Ghost Town shining examples of the show's strengths.Bonus points too for putting out regular mini 'snacktime' episodes between seasons rather than going radio silent.
