Introduction/About:
What's up guys today we're talking about health, spirituality and the 7 day vegan challenge - whoa!
- What is the 7 day vegan challenge/how I heard about it
- why doing?
-vegans always talking about it(bad rap)
- health - challenge
- overcome previous length (college) - getting made fun of, super bowl party broke with wings
- energy and vibration in food
- Hope to feel better and open third eye
- How starting: ate all meats (chicken, most of cheese, hid the chocolate)
- Trader Joe's bought $100 of food (carrots, cabbage, potatoes, zucchini)
- Philosophy is that I'm just eating the side dishes now - fries, celery,
- Challenges:
- Hope to not tell everyone I know about it
- accidentally eating something
- having food on hand when hungry
- label reading
- Not having ranch
- I will give updates every day
Day 1 Update:
Getting made fun of in college for it - pat of reason why don't want to tell people
- ate my famous stir fry breakfast - then put into burrito
- lots of nuts and snacks during the day
- Was a little tempted by cookie in break room
- then evening selected chips and salsa, and some beers.
- was a little hungry in the evening to balance the beer so scouraged the fridge and luckily didn’t have any cheese or things easy to make that would tempt me. That’s my one weakness is having things on hand to eat
- health: more craps during the day, probably cause breaking down food easier
- spiritual update: about the same for now other than feeling better
Day 2: Vibrational frequency - many food is tortured (do we want that in our bodies?)
- lazy day at home, made soup (hard to not use butternut squash my dad made me)
- still frequently hungry
- craving chocolate and cake
Day 3: Imperfect produce
- less inclined to want chocolate
- caused me to do more cooking, but I like warm vegetables
- made home made french fries
- Mediated for 30 mins - broke record
Day 4: Hate wasting food so ate all the chicken, eggs and cheese from home
- Snacked on chips from desk
- Almost accidentally ate some celery with ranch on it, but quickly thought about it and spilled the ranch all over my front side
- Had conversation about Keto and proud of myself for not bringing up that I am Vegan
Day 5: Short Update
- Forgot to meditate
- Feels good to not eat animals, stomach thanks me
Day 6: Getting in the hang of things - order lunch from a Thai place called Thai Basil - I heard asian food is really good fro trying to stay vegan. Still called ahead and asked if there was butter or cheese in the food.
- Almost there, the time is flying by. Still working my way through my snacks at work and have plenty of veggies at home. Let's do it!
Day 7:
- forgot peanut butter was vegan (butter in title)
- Foods that have protein
- Tofu: 10g
- Edamame: 8.5g
- Tempeh: 15g
- Lentils: about 9g
- Chickpeas (hummus): 7g
- Peanuts: 20g
- Almonds: 16.5g
- Spirulina: 8g
- Bean and rice: 7g
- Potatoes: 8g
- Broccoli: 4g
- Mushrooms: 3g
Epic sound effect transition for my five takeaways
This is my experience, not a doctor.
5 things learned from challenge:
1. Food Conscious - Read the labels (grew up on McDonalds and potato chips)
- Asking if things have milk, butter or cheese in them
2. Healthy food makes you hungry so have plenty on hand
3. Mentally feel better - like giving someone a compliment, opening a door, that kind of feeling (less guilt)
4. Lighter stomach
5. Knowing that it’s possible
-Animals have feelings
