Text of article:(JULY 20, 2019) Crater Lake is a national park in Southern Oregon.
It was the top of a volcano. The volcano exploded 7,700 years ago. Water from rain and snow filled the top.
Now Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States.
People visit Crater Lake for vacation. Rim Drive is a road around the lake. It is 33 miles.
There are many places to stop and see the lake. There are hiking trails and wildflowers, too.
Rim Drive is open now for the summer. However, the road closes in October. There is too much snow in the winter.
