Stephen Krashen is, in my opinion, one of the greatest linguistic theorists of our time. His work absolutely changed my perspective on what it is to learn and therefore teach a language. In fact, in pure Krashen theory, the teacher doesn't really teach the language at all. Your role is more of a guide and facilitator, making sure as many of the variables as possible are in place for effective language acquisition when the learner is exposed to the target language. In this podcast, I'll give my own take on Krashen's most important work - the five hypotheses of language acquisition, and how they had a positive impact on my teaching.
