Fieldwork is something that we are introduced to early on in our educational journeys and are asked to pick areas of interest for before we even know much about occupational therapy itself. Throughout my program, I have always valued and truly enjoyed hearing about other people's experiences as occupational therapists and students. Recently, I found myself interested in a specific area or practice setting in the field of OT, and I thought to myself, wonder how it would be to have my fieldwork in that practice setting?
I wanted to hear from someone that had the experience with their fieldwork in that setting, but there was no opportunity like that readily available. So I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great to have a podcast that provide that opportunity?
Interviewing occupational therapy students about their field work experiences, hopefully in as diverse settings as possible, hearing about their expectations, how they prepared, what they learned and their advice. So here I am, creating a podcast, hoping that there are others out there, you listeners that feel the same, and I also hope that there are people that want to share their experiences, occupational therapy students sharing their fieldwork experience and possibly seasoned occupational therapists sharing their experiences of being field work educators or clinical instructors.
